The Dark Itself

Here's Patreon episode 2! Today we discuss 5 MORE of our favorite rock & metal albums! Please kick back, take your shoes off, and travel back through time with us to one of the greatest periods in music history! Remember to grab yourself a drink and listen up!

Alright fuckers, it's time to get to an episode we both have wanted to do for a while and hope to continue year after year. And we're gonna call it "Shot For Shot!" Basically, it's Wil's 5 favorite bands that Jon has shown him and Jon's 5 favorite bands that Wil has shown him over the past year! No playlist, no bullshit (okay, there's...a bit), just great fuckin' music! So pop a squat, pop some earbuds in, and remember your favorite sippy cup!

In case you were wondering about the absolutely SICK band at the beginning of this episode: they're called Witchthrone, they fucking RULE, and the link to the video for their single "Horns" can be found right HERE!

Happy New Years! With this episode drops an entirely new year full of new possibilities. So in that spirit, we decided to put out an extra episode for everyone to announce some new things!

Check out the shiny new logo created by user aychuck on Fiverr. (He KILLS!)

Also listen for our re-recorded intro and outro music! As we acquire both new gear and knowledge every year, we intend on re-doing it each year to see how much better we can get!

And please stick around at the end of the episode for a VERY special announcement!

> Folkstone: "Restano i Frammenti - Live"

> Bloody Hammers: "The Summoning"

> Born Of Osiris: "The Eternal Reign"

> Of Machines: "As If Everything Was Held In Place"

That's right. The entire month of December being dedicated to Christian Metal was one long lead up to us doing our very own Christmas episode! This episode stars Jon: the grumpy curmudgeon who really dislikes Christmas, Wil: the only-slightly-grumpy grumbler who loves Christmas, and a shitload of really good music! Not only that, but we wanted to use this opportunity to go over some statistics and things we learned as we close our first year of doing a podcast! The bottom line to this year is this: if you have ever clicked on even one episode, THANK YOU! And Merry Christmas Fuckers!

The absolutely epic band featured towards the end of this episode is called HYENAS and the video for their new single that you heard can be found HERE!

Sadly today we begin closing our discussion of Christian Metal. But that means today we are talking about "Christian Metal But Not!" This is potentially one of our favorite all-around playlists we've ever created so you're sure to hear some sweet sweet music on this one! And maybe you'll even learn something! (Doubtful. But you never know!) So come on in, make yourself comfortable, don't forget the copious amounts of eggnog, and listen up!

Welcome to our series on Christian Metal! This "genre" can sometimes be a hot-button issue with certain members of our lovely metal community, but we're gonna talk about it anyways! Today we have our "terms and definitions" episode where we talk about the difference between "christian bands" and "christians in bands" as well as the wide span of different sounds this genre can conjure up! So buckle up for the wildest ride we've taken yet - and don't forget your "hydration!"
