Welcome back to the shadows. In this episode of The Dark Show Horror, your host Ben Comore dives deep into a rabbit hole that blurred the lines between science fiction and terrifying reality. In 1945, Amazing Stories magazine published a letter from Richard Shaver that would change the paranormal landscape forever. Shaver claimed to have discovered an ancient, sinister civilization living beneath the Earth's crust—the Deros. These "detrimental robots" were said to use advanced machinery to torture humanity from the depths. Was it a vivid imagination, a marketing stunt, or a chilling truth hidden in plain sight? We peel back the layers of the Shaver Mystery to explore the horror and the history behind the legends. Inside This Episode:

• The Origins: How Richard Shaver’s "memories" took the world by storm.
• The Deros vs. Teros: The secret war happening right under our feet.
• Ray Palmer’s Influence: How Amazing Stories fueled a national obsession.
• Legacy of Terror: Why the Shaver Mystery still haunts the world of horror today.
