February 24, 2022 Street Fighter 6's reveal was a waste of time | The DarkspiderCast S3E2
This may come off as a hot take but, despite the potentially bold direction the franchise of Street Fighter might be going in, that reveal did not warrant a week long countdown for a 40 second CG trailer. That being said, I've been playing Horizon 2! And I'm here to give my impressions on the game so far and why it shouldn't be trashed by Elden Ring stans. Also, Call of Duty is FINALLY taking a year off, Master Chief is taking his helmet off, and Bethesda is taking its PC launcher off....line.

February 16, 2022 Why I can't defend that Nintendo Direct | The DarkspiderCast S3E1
I'm back and with arguably the beefiest episode of the DarkspiderCast thus far. Hey, can you blame me? It wasn't me who chose to have the year's first Nintendo Direct, a re-reveal of Wolf Among Us 2, and a conspicuous Capcom countdown online while I was on break. Along with those tantalizing news, we also quite a few games that I've played to discuss, as well as new Super Bowl trailers that's got everyone, including me, rather hyped.

February 03, 2022 The Acquisition Wars Have Begun | The DarkspiderCast S2E10
We joked, we speculated, and quickly we realized we were only kidding ourselves thinking Sony wasn't thinking about buying their own companies in response to Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard. This week's newsbomb comes in the form of Sony Playstation looking to buy Bungie, creator of Halo and developer of Destiny, for $3.6 billion. I break down how this turns the console wars into the content wars, and how this could pose worry for us gamers. Leading up to that in this "season finale" is more talk of my journey through the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Cyberpunk 2077's next-gen upgrade coming (possibly) soon, and my impressions on the Halo TV series trailer.

I'm glad I waited to do the podcast this week the way that I did, and not because I busied myself with training for the new job I started. Several headlines that caught my attention broke since last week, including three new Star Wars games coming from Respawn Entertainment, several games have gone gold for the already stacked month of February, Steam Deck is set to ship and I further divulge into some feelings I have about the Microsoft/Activision buyout.

January 21, 2022 Microsoft BUYS Activision, the gauntlet is thrown down... | The DarkspiderCast S2E8
Sadly, it looks like once again there's not much to really talk about in the entertainment and gaming industries except for a small news story from earlier this week in which XBOX BOUGHT ACTIVISION/BLIZZARD!!! January 13, 2022 Is 500 Hours for Dying Light 2 a Selling Point? | The DarkspiderCast S2E7
Now that the GOTY discussion is out of the way, let's tackle other games I've been playing on the side. And I'm playing more than one since neither of them will take me 500 hours to complete. Obviously, today's main topic is whether or not Dying Light being touted as taking THAT long to fully 100% complete is a winning selling point or a turn off from trying to squeeze it in right before Horizon 2 comes out. Also, homages are paid to so of the famous folk we've lost in 2022 so far and my "review" of the XBox docuseries "Power On" on Youtube.

Apologies for the late upload of the first episode of 2022, but this one needed time in the oven for a couple of reasons. One, a hefty amount of news have broken since last week, including the cancelation of E3 once again and Sony's official declaration for their next VR peripheral. The year of 2021 is practically behind us and with it, arguably the most affected one when it comes to game releases. Let's face it, the pandemic was most felt this year with the numerous delays the gaming industry was hit with, and this easily led to one of my lower-tiered Best Games of the Year list. Now that list will be a topic for a separate video on Youtube but for now, the last episode of the DarkspiderCast for 2021 will focus on the games I'm most looking forward to in 2022. The self-proclaimed "biggest night in gaming" occurred last week in the form of the Game Awards 2021, and, for the first time in years, I was able to not only watch it live but stream it on Twitch as well. This only made it even funnier when taking into account...the actual quality of the show, and questioning whether or not head honcho Geoff Keighley is going to budge on any changes to make the show easier to chew on. This week, we talk the winners, reveals and let-downs from the Game Awards, catch up on Marvel's Hawkeye, and discuss how Playstation is finally bringing their own custom faceplates to market, despite suing the life out of everyone else in the process.
