Remember when calling someone on your cellphone before 7 PM could cost you a fortune?
Or when AOL Instant Messenger was cutting-edge technology?
D.B. has a theory: Generation X might be the best generation at adapting to change.
From VHS tapes and CDs to smartphones and artificial intelligence, Gen X has lived through one technological revolution after another.
But does that really make us better at embracing change than the generations before and after us?
D.B. has an opinion. And he'd love to hear yours.
Plus, a big milestone for The D.B. Nyce Podcast!

Some foods apparently have rules.
Turkey belongs in November.
Eggnog belongs at Christmas.
Pumpkin belongs in the fall.
And according to D.B., violating these rules may potentially rip a hole in the space-time continuum.
Today, D.B. and Ted attempt to understand why certain foods just feel wrong at certain times of year—and stumble onto a much more important question:
Why doesn't Christmas have its own leftover sandwich?
Also, Ted attempts an experiment involving ChatGPT.
Nice try, Ted.

D.B. and Sherry thought they knew exactly how their wedding ceremony was supposed to go.
Then the music started.
And Sherry immediately realized:
That's not my song.
What happened next looked completely different depending on where you were standing—and for the first time, D.B., Sherry and best man Ted compare notes about what each of them thought was happening during those few chaotic minutes.
Turns out there were a couple of surprises that none of them knew about.

D.B. just wants some chicken nuggets.
Sherry wants the points.
Unfortunately, getting both of those things at the same time turns out to be considerably more complicated than it should be.
With Ted caught somewhere in the middle, a simple fast-food run turns into a debate over saving money, promo codes, warehouse clubs, buying things you don't actually need...
and exactly how much ketchup is too much ketchup.

D.B. and Sherry have a problem in the bedroom.
And naturally...
Ted has thoughts.
Something isn't working the way D.B. and Sherry expected, they've tried just about everything to fix it, and somehow D.B. may have accidentally discovered that he's part of the solution.
Unfortunately, explaining how he discovered that makes the situation sound considerably worse than it actually is.
Probably.

For the first time, D.B., Sherry and Ted are all behind the microphones together.
What could possibly go wrong?
Apparently... quite a bit.
Before long, D.B. is in danger of being kicked off his own podcast, Sherry is discovering her devilish side, Ted is coordinating his socks with his social calendar, and somehow the three of them stumble onto what may be their greatest business idea yet.
Welcome to Fancy Burger.
We're pretty sure this is a terrible idea.

D.B. and Ted pull back the curtain on what happens after they record an episode: they read the transcript, ask ChatGPT for a report card, and use the results to help name the show.
This time, they read Episode 070’s review live. That turns into a show-within-a-show, a debate over whether feeding the results back to ChatGPT could break it, and an attempt to predict the future. Then Ted’s connection drops at exactly the wrong moment.

It’s Sunday! D.B. and Ted reach Episode 70 with no plan—and within minutes, Ted’s audio sounds like his house is on fire. Once the technical chaos settles, they wander through a half-remembered comet movie, compare AI-generated pictures of their podcast universe, and accidentally invent Baby Critic and Ted’s “sexy robot.”
Nobody’s house exploded. The conversation did.

Every time Ted comes on the podcast, D.B. learns a little more about his friend.
Today, he learns that Ted apparently has the ability to find the perfect T-shirt for absolutely any situation.
That probably doesn't sound particularly dangerous.
But somehow it leads D.B. and Ted down a rabbit hole involving trivia, old characters, questionable intellectual property and the realization that they've apparently created an entire universe over the years.
And now there's someone new joining it.
His name is Tedpool.

Ted is back.
And somehow a conversation about growing up in the '80s turns into old movies, childhood memories, artificial intelligence, candy, questionable business opportunities... and D.B. discovering that Ted may have found a way to make money from the podcast.
Which would be great.
Except apparently D.B. isn't getting any of it.
This seems like something the legal department should probably look into.
