The DC Comics Presents Show

DC Comics Presents Annual #4 (Superman & Superwoman)

It’s the return visit to The DC Comics Presents Show for podcaster, Ted Kilvington.  Ted opens the podcast with a Spotlight on Superman‘s guest, Superwoman.  (which is a return to the podcast in itself)  He talks about his personal history regarding Superwoman.  Next, Ted takes a short trip to the Comics Spinner Rack.  Finally, Ted concludes this podcast with his synopsis and go-thru of DC Comics Presents Annual #4.

Episode #86 (Superman & Supergirl)

Russell’s Comic Brag

You know about Batman, Superman, and Spiderman, but have you heard of Doll Man, Doctor Hormone, or Spider Queen? In The League of Regrettable Superheroes, you’ll meet one hundred of the strangest superheroes ever to see print, complete with backstories, vintage art, and colorful commentary. So prepare yourself for such not-ready-for-prime-time heroes as Bee Man (Batman, but with bees), the Clown (circus-themed crimebuster), the Eye (a giant, floating eyeball; just accept it), and many other oddballs and oddities. Drawing on the entire history of the medium, The League of Regrettable Superheroes will appeal to die-hard comics fans, casual comics readers, and anyone who enjoys peering into the stranger corners of pop culture.

At Green Arrow’s recommendation, Black Lightning is considered as a prospective Justice League member but the other heroes disagree on his admittance. Meanwhile, a new super-villain surfaces in the person of The Regulator, a former research scientist who has the power to command armies of rats and other vermin. Unaware of the threat he poses, the Justice League continues with its test of Black Lightning’s abilities. Disguised as villains, they battle him while Superman serves as judge of his initiation. Although he passes the test, Black Lightning declines to join the team, claiming prior responsibilities to his solo career.

Episode #82 (Superman & Adam Strange)

This time around you will be hearing from yet another Guest Host and a great podcaster in his own right, Professor Alan.  The good Professor will tell you about his comic book history as well as his history with Superman‘s Guests, Adam Strange.  Professor Alan is so good, I didn’t even have to put the stoppers in to announce the segments.  He does that himself.  Professor Alan will then take you through today’s issue, DC Comics Presents #82. The Professor closes out the show with a trip to the Comic Spinner Rack as well as going through some of the ads in today’s issue.
