We are past the halfway point of Season Three of Batman The Adventures Continue with this month's review of Issue Four which sees the middle part of the three part story "Crack Up!" This month features the resolution to a few cliffhangers from last month including the identity of the latest red-hooded assassin, as well as more of the mysterious past of Joker's latest sidekick, The Straightman and a few Easter Eggs that point to a certain "Dark Knight of the Future". Hold on to your hats, because the Good Brothers are reviewing their final Season One episode of Static Shock appropriately titled "Winds of Change." The hosts do their best to break down the plot that covers a familiar drama trope of "what would happen if the best friend heroes fought?!?" and added in a dash of "what if Fat Albert was an evil Bang Baby with the powers of the wind?!?" The result is a fun episode with the origins of one of the items in Static's arsenal and a goofy villain whose theme song is described as "Circus Hip-hop." It's the Good Brothers special April Fools day episode as their "What If..." scenario has solidified itself as an annual tradition. Once again the hosts find themselves in the loosely connected Marvel Animated Universe of the 90s with the sentimental favorite Incredible Hulk crossover episode "Helping Hand, Iron Fist." Hear Cal & Liam share their nostalgic memories from the first time they saw this episode, the mystery of how this show ended up on the UPN network and why they love a good Tony Stark mullet. The hits just keep on coming as the Good Brothers wrap up their month with the Justice League Unlimited episode "Question Authority" which just happens to be the beginning of the end of the celebrated Cadmus story arc. The hosts take their time looking at the layered plot that both acknowledges the past and the present with threads pulled from Superman: The Animated Series whilst continuing the present story of intrigue and holding those with the most power accountable for their actions. While the plot carries most of the episode, Cal & Liam do discuss the few action sequences and how a faceless hero's descent into madness is portrayed. Music also plays an important part in several of the big scenes, as does the vocal performances with their differing styles of acting in this dialogue driven episode.
