This episode features the return of She-Bang and the debut of a metahuman villain that's all about cultivating mass. After a landmark 270th episode that saw the return of friend of the show Kevin Altieri, the Good Brothers considered unplugging the microphones for good, but alas their dedication and love of the listeners (and brands) have them back for a trip around the multiverse with an Elseworlds review of 2004's The Batman episode "Traction." Keeping on theme for the hosts mini-celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Knightfall storyline, this episode features this universe's version of "The Man that Broke The Bat" looking and functioning in a very different way then we saw in Batman: The Animated Series. Hear the hosts talk about the plot point and visual parallels to its' Knightfall/Knightquest comic book counterpart, Bane's visual comparison to a certain "Hulk" of a character, how this series went with a very specific version of Alfred and parallels and homages from and to the Nolan Batman movies and Sam Raimi's Spiderman. The Good Brothers seems to do their best work on episodes with big round numbers, and this week's episode is no exception as they welcome back good friend of the show and Batman: The Animated Series veteran director Kevin Altieri to the show to discuss the monumental episode "Bane." Kevin talks about adapting a character so quickly after being introduced to the main comic continuity, how he and series producer overcame initial disdain for the Bane character to make him fit into the DCAU, the Lucha Libre influence the drew from for the show and whether they ever considered adapting the Knightfall story and how he would have executed it in the DCAU. He also tells an incredible tale about Bruce Timm single-handedly storyboarding the final act of the episode in less than 24 hours, meeting with Lolita Ritmanis to discuss music and how much input the directors had on that aspect of the show, and a heart-warming and moving reflection on his relationship with Kevin Conroy over the years. All of this and he offers his own scorecard for the episode and a few other stories along the way for a highly entertaining perspective on this legendary BTAS episode. The Good Brothers are back again exploring a brand new part of the DC Multiverse with a review of a pair of Justice League Action episodes. Up first Cal & Liam review "Follow That Space Cab" which features a Paul Dini penned story with Superman, Lobo, Mr. Mind and Space Cabbie! Hear a break down of the Sci-Fi inspired soundtrack, character models that seem to be inspired by the DC Films of the time, and a stunted episode run-time that seems to inspire the series' name. The hosts then tackle "Galaxy Jest" which features the Clown Prince of Crime being abducted by a certain alien emperor for the purpose of entertaining his troopers all the while Batman, Superman, The Flash and Wonder Woman are searching Gotham for a ticking timebomb of Joker gas set to detonate at midnight!
