This week, Bishop Rodgers continues to teach from Acts 7:54-60 on "Killing God's Voice." Stephen's indictment against the religious leaders literally cut through their hearts and made them fill up with wrath. They were seething with anger against the preacher of repentance. They wanted to stop the voice of God speaking through Stephen. While they were angry, Stephen stayed focused on Christ. God gave Stephen a vision into heaven, enabling him to see Christ standing on the right hand of God. This symbolized Christ overlooking the scene and caring for His dear follower and the joyful reception of His faithful servant. This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches from Acts 7:51-53 on the dangers of holy consecration without spiritual conversion. Stephen was a spirit-filled man but was not limited to serving tables. He won the lost and performed miracles. The way the Jewish leaders treated Stephen was similar to how they treated Jesus. Even Stephen's face showed the glory of God, which revealed he was a servant of God. Stephen accused his hearers of being a product of their parentage "stiff-neck, meaning unbending stubbornness in injustice and unholy causes. The term "uncircumcised heart" is religious activities with no corresponding internal spiritual reality. This can be boasting of church attendance, baptism or large ministries, but their hearts have not been touched, changed or converted by God. Resisting the Holy Spirit is disobedience and leads to rebellion against God. We pray as you listen to this powerful message, they Holy Spirit will convict you of any areas in your heart where you have not allow the Lord to have His way. The Lord wants relationship and not rituals.

This week Bishop teaches from Acts 2:44-27 on “The Daily Additions.” The early church was united in the same community. The word common means “koina” which comes from the word “koinonia” meaning fellowship. The people having everything in common was not socialism or communism, because it was voluntary. The early church had an intense sense of responsibility for each other, which led to them having a real desire to share all they had. This experiment worked for a while, until sin entered. The story of Ananias and Sapphira shows us that we can’t serve beyond our character. We can be a christian but not a person of character. We pray as you listen to this message, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you any areas in which your character can be developed. May you seek the Lord daily and grow in your walk with Christ.

The promise of the Holy Spirit is for all who hear the Word and obey it. As believers, we must be careful to listen to Word for ourselves and stop thinking the Word is for someone else. A disconnected Christian is a disobedient and unfruitful Christian. The church is a body of people who have received the Word of God. The early church was known for four activities. In this passage of scripture, Peter addresses the mockers who said the people of God were drunk with new wine. Though Peter had been an unstable leader, Christ had forgiven and restored him. This was the new Peter, humble but bold. No matter what sins you have committed, God promises to forgive you and make you useful for His kingdom. This is a message of Power, the good news we are to proclaim to future generations. God pours out His spirit upon all flesh: men and women, old and young, rich or poor. The Holy Spirit does not discriminate, He is available to all. This week, Bishop teaches from Acts 2:5-13 on the "The Response." There are three parts of the Christian experience: Salvation, Sanctification, and Service. Unction and Pentecostal power is connected to service, giving us spiritual discernment & effectiveness in the utterance of Truth. The response was witnessing. The believers were praising God and not preaching the gospel. The sound of the wind drew the people to the temple, but it was the praise by the believers that really captured their attention. The Holy Spirit brings new life to those who believe in Jesus Christ and that life comes with continuing power. This requires us to be empty, so we can be filled by the Holy Spirit. The key to the Spirit-filled Christian life in cultivating an attitude of perpetual emptiness which brings with it a perpetual fullness.

One accord means of the same mind or spirit. They had a harmony that led them to action. This meant the first fruits were born; the church itself and the first harvest of souls. It was the institution of the new rule and principle of God. Man would now be guided by the Spirit who empowers him/her to live right and to serve Christ.
