Steve Murphy's spent a good bit of his youth in Princeton, WV and his first job as a cop was in Bluefield. Sophie asked him about his time in WV, how he climbed the ranks, how he made it to Medellin, Colombia, and what parallels he sees in our Appalachian Opioid epidemic.

In Wyoming County, WV, Richard Altizer has spent years trying to get folks attention about the water situation and he's not alone. Footage that went viral over Memorial Day weekend shows how fed up residents are with the lack of clean water and the lack of government response. Richard explains how he got involved, how much water he's personally delivered, and how he think's coal companies are responsible, aware of the situation, and actively profiting off of it.

I once again had the chance to talk to one of my favorite online creators, GT AKA @BearBaitOfficial who makes incredibly informative videos about the craziest stories on the frontiers of science & tech. This go round, we're talking about a composer who worked with big tech to try and compose after death using brain organoids. Naturally, this led us down a path where we discussed the recent direwolves announcements, Microsoft claiming they made a new form of matter, and the age old problem of big flashy tech headlines, without much to back it up.

Bluefield might sell off it's Sanitary Board to WV American Water, and I attended the town hall about it. Nicholas Co. BOE released ANOTHER statement. Also, somehow I have over 51K followers on TikTok and that's just insane so I have to profusely thank y'all about it.

Recently, I was seeing some very serious accusations against Nicholas Co. School's Superintendent in the comments of some TikToks I made. Imagine my surprise when an official statement confirmed what they'd said. Nicholas Co. Schools hired (then later fired after scrutiny) a registered sex offender. More importantly, it's the Superintendent's grandson.
