A nearly impossible mission drove dentist Dr. Chrystle Cu to create Cocofloss with her sister, Cat. Could they invent a dental floss so cleansing, motivating, and fun that it’s irresistible — and also highly effective at preventing tooth decay and gum disease? Since Cocofloss’s launch in 2015, this “game-changing” brand has become a cult favorite of dental professionals and reluctant flossers alike (including Gwyneth Paltrow and Ellen DeGeneres). Chrystle gains inspiration from patients in her private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as from the underserved communities where she volunteers by providing dental care and oral-health education. She’s passionate about creatively transforming daily oral care into a blissful way of life accessible to all. A graduate of Wellesley College and University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, Chrystle is a member of the Spear Visiting Faculty and became an Invisalign Platinum Provider in 2019. Aside from being prevention-obsessed, Dr. Cu is particularly interested in helping patients discover and understand the connection between their oral health and overall health.

I founded Light Solutions Dental, making one of the brightest and most affordable wireless lights on the market. The company sky-rocketed and Light Solutions Dental has now expanded into loupes. We have the smallest and most lightweight flip-ups in dentistry.Recently, I've started Oral Genome. We are a saliva testing kit company that analyzes people's risks for dental cavities, gum disease and bad breath. It's been a passion and project of mine and brings me back full circle to college when I did so much research and oral and systemic health at Case Western Reserve University's School of Dentistry.
