John the Baptist was a person who lived to see the Kingdom of God established in the lives of people, His rule expressed in our trust of Him. John knew the importance of both the message as well as the implications for his own life and death. How does John’s life relate to us today? In what ways does the trust that John had also become an inspiration for our learning to trust Jesus? In the passage for today, we will be reminded of both John’s message and the glorious demands of living as God’s people in a trust-relationship.
