Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. This week’s presidential debate was entertaining - if you like cage-fighting - but not particularly illuminating. The format was horrible, a format that encouraged both Biden and Trump to interrupt each other and talk over each other. Chris Wallace was clearly in Biden’s corner, so Trump was debating two opponents, not just one. Wallace interrupted Trump repeatedly, but rarely - if ever - interrupted Biden. Trump was clearly the alpha male in the room, so for Americans looking for strong, assertive leadership in a president, Trump helped himself. I doubt, however, that the debate helped anyone whose mind was not already made up. Biden advisers are encouraging him to refuse to debate Trump again, a sure sign that they think Biden lost. We have likely seen our last presidential debate for the year.
