  • Womens empowerment show w/ activist Jillian Bullock
Please join me this Thursday as I welcome:
    JILLIAN BULLOCK
“A woman of inspiration to young girls and women of all ages”
Jillian "The Jaguar" Bullock has been called a modern day Superwoman. In addition to being a Writer, Producer and Filmmaker, she also holds the title of Self-Defense Instructor, Fight Choreographer and Boxer.
Bullock, who has been in the fitness field for over 30 years, also holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Wing Chun, and has trained extensively as a wrestler and boxer -- most would definitely agree that she has mastered the art of "self-defense" -- which makes it hard to imagine that this modern-day "Superwoman" was once a "victim" of violence.
Jillian Bullock knows first hand how important it is for women to learn the art of self-defense -- as a former rape victim (age 11), Bullock counteracted her negative experience into positive energy through empowerment. Determined to never becoming a “victim” again, Bullock learned self-defense techniques that have equipped her to handle any potentially dangerous situation -- and she plans on taking her message (and techniques) to girls and women across the country.
Jillian’s message for young girls and women is not just “physical” empowerment…but “emotional” and “spiritual” empowerment as well.
In addition, Jillian is currently in pre-production of a film entitled, The Champion Inside, which is a script Jillian wrote, centers on a champion female boxer who is forced to retire after she learns she has cancer. Her return to boxing to regain the IFBA Welterweight title is complicated by her age, she’s 39, and her fear and lack of confidence to fight again after five years in boxing exile.
Along with being the writer, Jillian will wear the hats of producer, actor, and fight choreographer on the film. For more information about the project log on to - www.thechampioninsidemovie.com.
In her effort to encourage women to “think outside the box” and take on “non-traditional” jobs, Ji

  • Self published author spotlight w/ guest Monda Webb
Please join me Thursday at 9:00pm as we continue our "Self Published Author Spotlight". This week's guest is the talented author and poet, Monda Webb..
In 1999, Monda Webb thought heavily of her own mortality, and figured if she died tomorrow, what would she have wanted to accomplish? The answer came quickly. She’d share the poems she’d been writing for several years with the world. Molding herself after her father Robert Webb’s entrepreneurial spirit, she self-published a book of poetry in 2000 entitled A Peek Into My Soul.
Seven years later, Monda published her first novel, 7:33 am after “playing around” with it for 10 years. Her ultimate goal? To be signed by a major publisher and write several “unforgettable” novels, short stories and poetry books.
Currently, Monda works in Corporate America, sells Real Estate, appears
on HGTV as a featured Realtor on “Designed to Sell” and “Get it Sold”. Monda also manages her publishing and freelance writing company, Latebloomer 2000, LLC and has several projects and “collabs” planned in the next few years.
Visit Monda on www.latebloomer2000.com or on MySpace at www.myspace.com/monda_latebloomer2000

  • The king of hip hop fiction, Shannon Holmes
Please join me as I welcome the King of Hip Hop Fiction, Shannon Holmes!
Born and raised in New York City's most northern borough the Bronx Shannon Holmes' entrance into the literary world was anything but ordinary. Armed only with a GED and the desire to change his life, Mr. Holmes crafted his first novel and signed his first literary contract from prison, while serving a five year sentence for various drug convictions. This was truly an amazing feat when you consider Mr. Holmes had never even written a short story in his life. He truly made the best of a bad situation. He first achieved success with his first novel 'B-more Careful', which has gone on to sell a half a million copies to date. This may not sound like a lot of to the general public, but in the literary world Mr. Holmes is platinum. By producing such lofty sales numbers, Shannon was able to parlay the success of his first novel into a two book, six figure deal, with publishing giant Simon and Schuster. Avoiding the sophomore jinx, Shannon Holmes crafted the critically acclaimed 'Bad Girlz', which sold fifty thousand copies in its first week. His next novel 'Never Go Home Again' was hailed as best work to date. With this he achieved yet another milestone, he became the first author of the street genre to have his novel printed in hardcover. Since then Mr. Holmes has signed an even bigger deal publishing deal with St. Martin's Press, it's rumored to be in the high six figures, for two novel 'Everything ain't for Everybody' and another yet to be named novel. Since his inception into the literary world Shannon Holmes has towered over his peers, earning the crown of king of hip-hop literature. This year Shannon has plans on following up his cult classic B-more Careful with B-more Careful 2 (Netta's return). Having Venni Vetti Vecci, (He came! He saw! And he conquered!) the book game, Shannon has set his sights on the DVD market, having recently completed a script for his first straight to DVD movie calle
