The Deep by Zoe Marshall episodes

  • Do you ever feel like it's groundhog day too? w Zoe Marshall

    From the podcast Parenthood.

This week I chat to one of my fabulous mentors, Zoe Marshall (@zoebmarshall). We discuss her existential crisis in May and how that has changed her forever. We delve into:

🎙 Feeling ‘meh’ about life and not knowing if we can go on

🎙 Being obsessed with the ‘doing’ and ‘success’ until we reach burnout

🎙 How a health crisis led to reframing what’s important in life

    🎙 Is rest really lazy?

    And so much more…

  • Favs From The Archives: The Open Relationship

Do you think you could watch your lover get dolled up for an evening, putting on perfume and their sexiest undies... knowing they were about to sleep with someone else? So many of us couldn't even imagine, but many people can - and do. Being in an open relationship or living in "the lifestyle" for some is liberating and is the most loving way they know to honour their partner.

  • Surviving Domestic Violence with Zoe Marshall - Untidy

    From the podcast Untidy.

In this episode of Untidy we talk to Zoe Marshall, media personality, creator of ‘The Deep’ podcast, and self-described over-sharer. Our conversation with Zoe is about her experience of surviving domestic violence. We talk about what made her a target for getting drawn into that relationship, how she got trapped, and why it’s so hard for the victims of abuse to get out and stay safe.

CONTENT WARNING: Some of this conversation may be triggering to some listeners. Please check in with yourself and choose a time and a place to listen that’s right for you. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, please find resources below for places you can reach out to for help.

Zoe explains the journey of healing from her trauma, the remnants that remain affecting her, and how she became open to loving again. Now a mum to two young children and in a safe and loving relationship with her husband, Benji Marshall, Zoe’s life experiences have led her to create her hit podcast, ‘The Deep’. She is able to hold space for powerful conversations with people who have often never shared their stories before. Her community of devoted listeners come to the podcast to hear gritty conversations they may never have otherwise had access to, from people with extraordinary life experiences.

Untidy podcast honours the person within the parent. Hosts, Matilda Green and Hannah Davison dive into the undergrowth of sex and relationships, mental health, healing, body issues, identity questions, and more with a range of guests. Connect, laugh, learn, and keep moving forward.

  • Favs From The Archives: The (middle of the) Human Centipede

Everyone has heard of the 2010 cult horror film "The Human Centipede" and if you haven't, I’m sure you are googling it now.

I remember hearing how it had been banned in some countries and that people were passing out in the cinemas watching it!

I was fascinated, over the years I had watched the trailer, too scared to watch the film. It’s plotline- three tourists are sewn together mouth to… end, by a mad surgeon to form one gastric system. And the tagline for the film is… "100% medically accurate!!"

What would make a young woman want to star in a story like this… let’s find out!

  • Zoe Marshall Uninterrupted

From the podcast The Girls Uninterrupted.

We are so excited to have Zoe Marshall on the podcast this week, this is an episode you will NOT want to miss.

Zoe has been a broadcaster for over 12 years, and is the host and creator of the hugely successful podcast The Deep. From diving into Gloriavale, interviewing terminally ill parents, a madam, a lactating porn star and a man who has sex with dolls - there is quite possibly no one Zoe wouldn’t interview.

She’s also a mother of two, and a self-confessed “over-sharer” and all that sharing is very much in the public eye. Her husband, Benji Marshall is one of Aotearoa’s greatest rugby league players - currently the assistant coach of the NRL’s West Tigers.

  • The Satanic Cult - Part 2

We spoke to Serena last week about her life growing up in a Satanic cult. But after leaving, her life didn't get any simpler. The man she married turned out to be a narcissistic cheater, and the story of their relationship is just so bizarre.

  • The Satanic Cult - Part 1

Growing up in a satanic cult, Serena was being abused before she was even 5 years old. Her father, the leader of the cult, committed all sorts of abuses in the name of ritual and sacrifice. Serena is now able to tell her story with a level of self awareness and empathy that is just so impressive.

  • Pussy Power with Kellie

I have spent the past few months doing womb spiral. It's a journey to awaken the feminine, investigate trauma and listen to your body and yoni. There are 7 gates moving through the female organs which each cover a different element of your life. I went through this with Kellie from Soul Healing and she is one of my trusted guides when it comes to this work. This is not one of my typical interviews, it's more a debrief of my experience, which I felt was really valuable to share.

If you enjoyed this episode with Kellie, she's actually joining our self love event on Tuesday 21st November at 7:30pm. She's going to be teaching us all about self love from self pleasure though to the core- self soul love. Join us thedeep.com.au/pages/events

Connect with Kellie on Instagram @soulhealingwithkellie and check our womb spiral at www.soulhealingwithkellie.com/womb-spiral

  • The Port Arthur Massacre - The Daughter

The Port Arthur massacre. It's common knowledge in the minds of Australians but it's not often we hear the story of a family who lived through this first hand. Sue's mother was shot and killed during the massacre and her whole family feels the effects of it, even today.
