The Deep House Series ep06 - Tom Nikso

Listen Later

Welcome to ep06 of the Deep House series.
Deep house as a subgenre of house music is pretty massive. It is said to originate in the 1980's from Chicago. Generally when we talk of deep house, you woulld expect the bpm to be between 120 & 130. With the Deephouse series, I am hoping to show the different takes on this with the different mixtapes from the select guests in the UK & across the globe.
The next two instalments are a little personal to me as these djs have been with me since I started the https://soundcloud.com/matinales/sets/djs-work-mix-series in 2011.
So the 1st instalment is from dj/producer, Tom Nikso, who is a resident Dj at Scream Paris. We met thru a mutual friend, Bertrand. Again his sound verges on techno, tech and a hint of progressive house, so it was a privilege for Tom to do the https://soundcloud.com/matinales/djs-workmix-2-interview-with?in=matinales/sets/djs-work-mix-series but he didn't rest his laurels there. Then came the https://soundcloud.com/tomniksomusic/sets/deep-poems. To this day I tell him that it is still one of my favourites of time ;-)
So to this mix. What to expect? Hopefully, you will enjoy the light velvety sound to dark dulcet beats nearing the end.
Dedicated and in memory of Bertrand who opened my eyes to the deep house...merci
