Inspired by early 90's house music, DJ Monchan has been spinning many genres and producing disco edits and deep house music over a decade in New York City. A longtime supporter of NYC's underground, DJ Monchan runs and operates Dailysession.com, where..

Hailing from The Land of the Rising Sun, Monchan relocated to New York City in the early-ninenties and deeply immersed himself in the local, underground dance scene, meeting innovators and trendsetters at venues such as Sound Factory, Sound Factory Bar, Tunnel, Twilo and Paradium.

He established himself early on working behind the scenes at several record outlets. Toiling beside legends such as Charlie Grappone from Vinylmania enhanced his appreciation for House and Disco. At EKS Vinyl Plant, he witnessed and took part in production. Presently he can be found at A-1 Record Shop in the East Village, buying records for the dance section.

Moved to contribute to an underground community, DJ Monchan directs and operates Dailysession.com, where he spins and hosts local, upcoming DJs as well as established veterans. There he provides a platform where he and his friends upload mixed sets, broadcast live music and post art, photography, flyers and info of upcoming events you should definitely check out.

Not surprisingly from his devotion of putting together mixed sets, Toshi, as he is known to his friends, has grown into a producer. With already eight releases on his own Dailysessions Records Label and the EP on the Downtown 304 Label, he continues to pave the way for his passion.

Already known to those in the know for the his exclusive Party at the underground space, Cedar Room, DJ Monchan spins records and makes music in New York City.

We are honoured that on this episode we have a special guest who is no stranger to Japan's deep house underground scene.

He goes by the name Taisuke Kurosumi, he first started DJ'ing in 1992 and now has 28 years of experience on the club scene in Japan. In the early years, he started out playing Body Music, New Beat, Techno, Euro Dance and Italo House, but his passion was always for the more soulful side of dance music. In the late 90s he based himself in North Tokyo and began to explore his own style.

His current passion as a DJ is mostly focussed around soulful House, UK House and European House, and wherever he's spinning, you can be sure that the dance floor will be flooded with big-room vocals. As the trends in dance music have shifted and evolved in Japan, this is a DJ who is committed to preserving the original spirit of the dance floor, while serving up the kind of pure House that has always been, and will always be, at the heart of what good dance music is really about!
