The Defender Bible Study episodes

  • 1 John 1:1-4

Join us as Herbie Newell leads us through 1 John 1:1-4 as well as prayers for Families Count.

    • Let’s praise the Lord for the new churches that He has brought on board in 2019! He has increased our territory! May we pray that He would cause us to steward these relationships well and to be effective in our communication with them?
    • Praise God for churches and ministries that have offered to host Families Count trainings! Will you ask the Lord to go before us as we attempt to expand our trainings to other regions in the U.S.? Let’s petition Him for the right churches to attend.
    • The Lord is to be praised for expanding our Families Count team! Will you pray for our Families Count team (Erica, Lesley, Nate and Traci)? Let’s ask for God’s anointing on them and for Spirit-led leadership that honors Him.
    • Worship the Father for saving Moms and Dads and bringing them into His church through Families Count!  Let’s ask the Lord for more souls to be saved by the atoning blood of Jesus! Pray specifically for Moms and Dads that He is pursuing – that their hearts would be fertile soil for His word and that His Spirit would draw them to Christ.
    • For every provision that He has made for this ministry, let’s praise Jehovah Jireh! Why don’t we petition the Lord for more parent leaders – men and women who’ve been reconciled to Him through this ministry, that would minister to other parents and spread the Gospel to them?

    • Pray for the government of Peru and the central authority (DGA/MIMP) to make wise decisions about orphan care.
    • Pray specifically for the newest director of adoptions that took office this month. Pray that their administration will work in the best interested of the children.
    • Pray for the children of Peru: that they would hear the gospel & would also be sustained in their times of difficulty and waiting.
    • Pray for the government to create better advocacy policies for the children to be declared abandoned to be eligible for adoption or to be reunited with biological families.
    • Pray for the children at Not Forgotten and for Gene and Patty as they lead the staff who care for the boys at the home.
    • Pray for wisdom over the Peru team (Josh, Ferrah, Beth and Meredith Crawford) – pray as they evaluate what the future of the program will look like and navigate decisions moving forward.

  • Master Plan of Evangelism: Delegation

Join us as Herbie Newell and Rick Morton leads us through Chapter Six of Master Plan of Evangelism: Delegation as well as prayers for Poland.

    • Pray for two Polish families in process.  The Jurasek and Bednorz families are waiting on referrals.  Pray for favor in Poland since these families are Polish.
    • Pray for the Alderson family. This family adopted a sibling set of 4 a few years ago and has recently learned that their children’s biological mother had another baby. They are currently waiting to receive the final approval from the ministry before they can travel to bring Matilda home. Pray again for favor and that the Polish government will see the importance of placing Matilda with her brothers and sisters.
    • Continue to pray for the Ministry in Poland.  After the difficulty in 2016, we continue to pray that hearts will change to see adoption as a positive thing.
    • Pray for local courts/judges who seem to have more power in the adoption decision – especially in certain regions.  Pray they will see the value of adoption and children having forever homes.
    • Pray for continued favor with the Catholic Adoption Center and that they would understand the heart of Lifeline.
    • Pray for the many children waiting in Poland – who are older, larger sibling groups, or have severe medical special needs. Pray these children find their forever families.
    • Pray for Josh, Jana, Brianna, Toria and Dasha as they continue to work in Poland – despite the difficulties over the last 3 years.
    • Pray for the Lord to open doors for possible (un)adopted opportunities.
    • Pray for Sasha as he continue to be on the ground in Poland.  Pray that he would continue to build relationships with government officials.
