In this episode, Archie MacDonald, as new Laird of Glenbogle Estate, takes on one of the estate’s most cherished traditions —the annual Flight of the Maiden boat race. He continues to work on the Spring Water project and hires a marketing manager and photographer. Duncan questions his future at Glenbogle and Katrina throws her hat in the ring for the Highland Council election. We also have a bit of the supernatural with Golly’s tale of The Legend of Red Bonnet.

Things get lively at Glenbogle when Archie’s sister turns up with her mysterious “healer/guru” boyfriend, Golly is dealing with the loss of his vitality and we have some very unexpected “healing” sessions. This is definitely one of the more eccentric episodes of Monarch of the Glen.

In this jam-packed episode, Duncan discovers a surprising family connection and dreams of dukedom, Katrina uncovers a life-changing secret about her father and Hector…well early on in the episode he strolls in wearing only a towel. Meanwhile, goats run wild across the estate, sparking a chaotic chase that only Glenbogle could deliver. We unpack every twist, laugh, and tear as the family navigates love, loyalty and legacy. It is a classic MONARCH OF THE GLEN episode you won’t want to miss.

In this episode of The Den of Episodes, we deep dive into Season 1, Episode 3 of Monarch of the Glen. Listen as we discuss all the happenings as they prepare for the Glenbogle Ball. Episode 2 of Monarch of the Glen strips away the romance of Glenbogle and exposes the reality beneath it. As Archie faces mounting debt and pressure from the bank, the question of who truly controls the estate comes sharply into focus. We will see Archie fight to keep his family’s estate, Lexie turn on the charm, Duncan sabotage a piece of salmon, and the annual Glenbogle Hill Race.
