In the latest Deuceecast Movie Show ep, the last of the scary movie season slips away, as the merry movie season begins to take hold for 2024!
Mikey, d$, and #XLessDrEarl are back with another rousing batch of movies to be ReFlicked -- first, a quick sports update as all the teams win except for the teams that lose. Then jumping in with Mikey's "Smile 2", and continuing on with old monster movies, Albert Brooks relationship dramedy, and modern classic Sandler, along with brand new horror films on Netflix, a last dance of a symbiote, and of course, The Rock saves Christmas in Red One... and who actually liked it?
We go over our assigned films, as well as assign more, plus the latest Top 5 of 2024.
He's one of the last real superstars, and last real movie stars that we've had in Hollywood, and no, we aren't talking about our friend Jeremy Burgess...
We are talking one Thomas Mapother IV, aka, Tom Cruise, and it's time for the show to do our official Tom Cruise Top 10. Mikey and d$ are joined, as per usual, by #XLessDrEarl and a big movie fan, the Pride of Dahlonega, Spawn of The Voice of Valdosta, Lil Garrison Ryfun to count them down.
First, Garrison gives his review on the latest Pope romcom, "Conclave", with #XLessDrEarl chiming in a little.
Then, starting with "Endless Love" and ending with "Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning", and every Tom Cruise movie in-between - each of the guys list their fave Cruise films as we go along.
Finally, at the end of the show, an overall average is taken and the Official Tom Cruise Top Ten Films are announced!
By the time you finally hear this episode, we will know who the President will be in January... or maybe we won't. Maybe we'll know later today, or next month, who knows. But what we do know is movie elections! Mikey, d$, and #XLessDrEarl invite in Friend of the Show Jacob Roth from Wyoming to discuss all the voting in movies.
First up, a look at the latest Good Day for a Movie Podcast, co-hosted by Roth from Wyoming, and what the latest films are. Then, a round of IMDb Top Four, picking out the most known projects of certain actors and such.
And finally, a top five of movie elections -- and some are quite the stretch...
With a little nod to All Hallow's Eve, the guys at the Deucecast are here to celebrate some of the best in suspense and horror and creepy movies, with the first ever Horror Movie Draft.
#XLessDrEarl was called away to a patient found in a bathtub of ice with no kidneys and is doing the proper surgery now -- but stepping into the pretentious spot, Miss Independent himself, the Burgerler, Jeremy Burgess.
The rules are simple... after playing a quick Box Office Mojo game, in a snake style draft, the guys select horror and scary movies from across Hollywood's years, filling out a list that will ultimately get a movie from the 1960s or previous... the 70s... the 80s... the 90s... the 2000s... the 2010s... and 2020 until current date. Some are pretty easy to pick, others take some strategy, but overall, Mikey, d$, and Burgess are all asking you to vote THEIR Lineup the best of all -- so make sure you cast your vote either in the Discord or on @TheDeucecast on X.com! And at the end of the show, Mikey pays off his annual venture into scary movies, MikeTober, plus a rundown on the streaming status of "Don't Die"
It's the Spooky Season as Mikey, d$, and #XLessDrEarl continue their Halloween themed episodes for the month of October! Make sure you check out our fave witchy movies from a few weeks ago, and next week, our very first Horror Movie Draft... but tonight? Haunted Houses.
And joining us on the show tonight for his first ever Deucecast appearance, friend of the show and church drummer extraordinaire, Jon "Speedy" "Clax" "Little Drummer Boy" "Like Def Lepperd but Both Arms" Claxton! We get to know Speedy Clax's fave genres of films and a little about him overall before diving into the episode.
After a scary good game of Denzel, the crew jumps on the Top Five Haunted Houses lists! Running down all the scariest places, freakiest basements, terrifying treehouses, horrifying clown rooms, mental motels, and much more.
Movies discussed and where they are streaming (at the time of recording)
The weather is crisper, the nights are longer, the movies are movie'er... and it's time for ReFlicktions! In a rare instance, d$ actually has more movies that Mikey, with #XLessDrEarl coming in with all the movies he's seen since July.
In the small but still somewhat cool milestone of our 650th episode, Mikey, d$, and #XLessDrEarl kick off the month of October with the first of three horror themed episodes -- which one, you ask? Its the Witch One, as a matter of fact. See what we did there? First up, random chatter about Joker Flop de Flop (honestly, I'm not looking up whatever that crap is called) and even some Megalopolis convo at some point, then the October Birthday Movies!
Then, digging into our Top Five... the Top Five Witches in Movies.
PIP PIP to all our little cheeky monkey fans! Bloody good time on this episode!
The Deucecast pays a nod to Jolly Ol' England with a list of their favorite Brit films - whether directed by a Brit, movies that take place in a British locale, or perhaps just a British story, Mike, d$, and #XLessDrEarl invite in Friend of the Show and Anglophile himself -- not just Mikey's Uncle, but the show's uncle... Unca Brian make his valiant return.
Along the way, a round of Doug Benson's ABCDeez, then a nod to both Kris Kristofferson and Dame Maggie Smith, two very different legends of the screen and stage, and their passing.
Then, a list of narratives, both classic and new, animated and documentary style and more -- the British films are coming!!
Movies discussed, and where to find them at time of recording:
Happy Fall! Or Merry Autumn, if that's how you celebrate... three guys who declined every single invite to any Freak Off Party, the DCMS guys are ready to talk some football! Or at least, players in the footballs who also hit the silver screen - from Hall of Famers to random players who we knew long ago, here our d$, Mikey, and #XLessEarl's Top Five former NFL player who did some movie stuff.
Also, a rousing game of Rotten Tomatoes, along with some quick reviews on the new Transformers One film. Movies discussed, and where to find them streaming at time of recording:
It's the unofficial end to the summer series, dropping a day or two before summer actually ends -- but we waited until #XLessDrEarl was back in studio! And here he is, joining d$ and Mikey as they count down their all time 10 favorite films ever (and give 11 thru 20 later on in the show) Mikey and d$ have a recap of the All Time Top 10 given in Eps 214 and 218 (back in March of 2016), but for #XLessDrEarl, its a brand new list that none of us had ever heard. And after a lengthy discussion on the films of Ernest, we dive in to the all time top ten... of course there is some crossover, and a little movement from previous lists to now -- and only a smattering of pretention. You'll hear about Harry Ford and Michael Mann. Some Tom Hanks and Audrey Hepburn. Morgan Freeman and Play It Again Sam... films from 1942 all the way up to 2010. It was a great list to discuss and we'd love to know YOUR faves too. Here are movies discussed and where to find them streaming at time of recording:
