True life in Christ requires risk: the willingness to be seen, misunderstood, or even look foolish—because maturity isn’t about control, it’s about dependence. The Father calls us out of self-preservation and into the fearless freedom of abiding life in His Son.

Day 70 reminds us that spiritual growth requires more than inspiration—it demands nourishment. Hebrews 5:13–14 tells us that “solid food is for the mature,” for those who have trained their senses to discern what is good and what is evil. Moving from milk to meat means letting go of our need to appear strong or polished and learning instead to be teachable. The Father retrains our instincts—away from fear, performance, or survival—and forms in us true discernment through the Spirit. Growth is slow, steady, and sometimes uncomfortable, but it is the only way to maturity. Sons don’t sip from bottles; they eat what the Father sets before them.

The same divine pattern calls every believer onward: to move from spiritual infancy into mature sonship. The Father delights in small beginnings but will not allow small endings. Maturity means putting away childish reactions, letting go of self-protection, and stepping into the fullness of the life we’ve been given in Christ—the life of sons who are sent, not just saved.

Continuing from The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer, Day 65 invites us deeper into The Presence—from admiring the fire to living within it. Tozer contrasts the scribe and the prophet: the scribe tells what he has read, but the prophet tells what he has seen. The church today has many scribes, yet few who have pressed beyond the veil into the holy presence of God. Tozer reminds us that this veil is not of linen but of self—the uncrucified life that keeps us standing in the outer courts.
