We all neglect do to things from time to time and forgetfulness is how we justify the things we neglect to do. But we also know how to discipline ourselves to do things every single day without missing. So where does acting like the Church line up? Do we neglect to act like the Church or are we disciplining ourselves every day so we will NEVER neglect to act like the Church? We will talk about why it's important to have spiritual alarm clocks in this Christian life. Hope it's a blessing to you!
Is the devil stealing our identity as Christians? Are we seeing ourselves as something much poorer than God intended? Is the Church beyond what we consider it to be? We will discuss these questions as we seek to put our shield of faith up against the devil and hopefully find our true identity in Christ as His Church. Blessings to you!
God's Church is the greatest institution ever designed and yet sadly our culture often devalues it or seeks to tailor-make it to fit our desires. So in an effort to figure this out, we bring in Pastor Mel Walker, who (along with being WVC's Assistant Pastor) is a long time youth minister and an observer of cultural trends, especially in the Church. In this interview style podcast, we will seek to combat the devil's perversions and attacks against Christ's Church so that we can properly value and invest in it. We hope this is a blessing to you!
We like to have things in the proper dosage in our lives. Having too much of something can cramp our lifestyle. But does this happen with the Church too? Do we like having just enough Church? We'll explain this and discuss what is a dangerous trend in our day and age - having just enough Church. The Church is God's singular plan of accomplishing His Will and glorifying His Son. The question can be posed, if we're not totally invested, are we invested at all? We hope this blesses your soul!
We love having options in our lives. Most of us love feeling as if we're not chained down and we can make something custom-made for what we desire. That might be fine with certain things, but when it gets into how we see Christianity, it becomes deadly. We will discuss why there are only two clear options in Scripture and how we can defeat the devil's deception that a 3rd option exists. Many blessings!
In Scripture we find a lot of things that we need to obey, and 1 Peter 5 is no different. The Apostle Peter has several exhortations for us in the last few verses, but perhaps we need to make very sure we notice HOW exactly we are supposed to obey. Obedience towards Jesus is a true gold mine, but there is one very important way to obey, and if we miss it, we miss everything. We hope this encourages and blesses your soul!
Why does "church" seem to be so confused and devalued in our culture today? How is devil been able to convince us that we may not need the church like we used to? Pastor Mel Walker will help me discuss the value of the church and how we can recalibrate our minds to the value of the church today. We hope this is a blessing to you!
Champions live differently than the rest of the world. They discipline themselves while others spend their lives on recreation. Well, Christians are victors through Jesus and that means that we are called to live for higher and better things than what the common world does. The way to arrive at living like a victor us by simply asking questions. We'll explain as we seek to change our perspective from "What is lawful?" to "What is helpful?". Blessings!
We often find things to worry about in this life. The Lord wants us to know that we can simply do what He has called us to do and live for good and entrust the rest of our lives to Him and His promises. Yes, it's a tricky lesson to learn, but if we learn to trust Him instead of being anxious, we will be filled with God's peace - the peace that passes all understanding. Blessings!
