Lisa never claims to have all the answers. This became abundantly clear when she read through someone else's post on Facebook, expressing their comfort with cutting someone out of their life. We all deal with toxic relationships, and have probably had to simply turn our backs on someone we used to believe was a friend. But what would Jesus do? And whatever He would do, does He require or empower us to do the same? 

In this episode, Lisa shares briefly her own experience of "walking away," and asks some probing questions about whether it was the right thing to do.

Discarded Daughters struggle with the desire to be needed, wanted, loved, accepted...and often don't turn down opportunities to put out someone else's fire, when deep down they know they should. Recently I've been doing a lot of grief "counseling" with women burdened by loss. And it's brought up some painful memories of my own. In this episode, I share the stories of children we fell in love with but were never allowed to parent. Aside from being heartbroken, we also had to let those babies go...knowing the situations they'd be going do might not be the safest places for them. Our hearts were engaged in every situation. What was God doing? Why were we not allowed to keep those babies? And why were we allowed to raise three others? 

PS: I apologize for the space heater running in the audio...but it's cold in Kansas and minus 12 degrees means having a space heater going in the control room. Thanks for understanding, liking, sharing and reviewing anyway!
