Welcome to Episode 21 of The Diecast Podcast, where Matt (@minicarrealm) and Ben (@boyracerben) dive into another huge round of diecast news, new releases and questionable purchasing decisions.
This episode, we take a closer look at the final Hot Wheels RLC Selections Porsche 959 in Spectraflame Purple with its new gold Real Rider wheels. It looks good… but with the incredible level of detail we’re now seeing elsewhere in the 1:64 market, does RLC still justify the hype?
That question gets even harder when we get our best look yet at the upcoming MotorHelix 1:64 models. Opening doors, bonnets and boots, detailed engines and some seriously impressive panel gaps — the R34 GT-R, Liberty Walk R35, RX-7, Ford GT40 and Pagani Zonda have us wondering whether MotorHelix is about to set a new benchmark for premium 1:64.
We also check out one of our favourite announcements of the episode: the Pop Race x Liberty Walk x American Diorama race team, complete with Mercedes-AMG GT3, transporter and matching pit crew. Add in another strong batch of Mini GT releases — including that stunning green Porsche 911 GT3 Touring — and there’s plenty competing for the diecast budget this month.
