The Difference Between Conviction and Condemnation

Listen Later

God is light—and in Him, there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5).
Too often we confuse the Holy Spirit’s conviction with the enemy’s condemnation. But there’s a difference: conviction leads us to Christ, while condemnation chains us to shame.

In this message, we explore:

  • The truth of 1 John 1:5–10: living in the light through daily repentance.

  • The battle of Galatians 5:16–17: Spirit vs. flesh.

  • Paul’s raw struggle in Romans 7—what I want to do, I don’t do.

  • How to distinguish conviction from condemnation (specific vs. general).

  • Why confession (James 5:16) and repentance break generational bondage (Exodus 20:5–6).

👉 Whether you’ve been caught in guilt, shame, or cycles of sin—this message is for you. Conviction is God’s invitation to freedom, transformation, and healing.
