Only someone in this situation can understand the daily struggle you are faced with as well as the irrefutable fact that you are the only person able, capable and responsible enough to protect your child and pave the way for a better life. You would think that the State has an obligation to partner with you in that persuit. To protect and enable its citizens, especially the most vulnerable. But, in SA the State is spectacularly noticeable by its absense in this very time of need.
