Bold statement? Probably not. I think we all recognize that the system is rigged against the individual and geared towards corporate dominance in conjunction with political influence to mold society into an image that works best for their dominance and self interest.

And even when it looks like David has a shot against Goliath like during the short squeeze put on Wall Street from a small number of Reddit users, we quickly get smacked back to reality finding that even with power in numbers, its not enough for a society that is controlled by Government and Corporations working hand in hand.

Robinhood claimed that it was for the little guy but it was made abundantly clear that they were being controlled by their real customer, the powers that be with the hedge funds who they sell information to. Thus stopping the short squeeze dead in its track and causing the average retail trader to lose big while hedge funds walked away with hundreds of millions of dollars.

Since the pandemic started, we've seen a rise in consumer spending. People are buying more now than ever but the gratification that comes with these purchases of trinkets and other knick knacks is fleeting, sending consumers flocking back to their browsers to get the next fix.

Or maybe you were able to focus your attention on an even bigger purchase like a new home or dipping your toes in the stock market but you were left with buyers remorse wondering what is going to happen next after entering into a 30 year mortgage on a house that already doesn't feel like home or losing 75% of your position in GameStop stock...

Our mental state is in jeopardy as we get our dopamine fix from clicking add to cart. Why do we choose to focus our dollars on empty pieces of junk that leave a gaping hole in our hearts? Instead, can we break this addiction by focusing on practices that will set us up for long term success?

Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg recently downplayed the role that their social media platform played in providing an outlet for the Protesters of the Jan 6th Siege on the Capital to coordinate the event that took place. Sandberg implied that smaller fringe platforms who didn't have the same capabilities to monitor activity were actually to blame.

According to numbers provided in the charging docs from the Justice Department, that doesn't seem to even come close to the truth.

Big Tech is stepping up to the plate to fix the tear in society that they helped to create, all while generating record profits.
