Redemption Bible Church is led in a look at Mark 2 this week as we continue the current sermon series entitled "The Crown and the Cross." Pastor Jason Mayhall describes how Christianity is unique in that it is the only religion where it asks people to focus on what has already been done for them and not on what they have to do. There's been a temptation, dating back to the Pharisees, to become overly consumed with laws or rituals that can take the joy out of celebrating Jesus. We must recognize how we are born again through Jesus, and express that joy to those around us. There may still be things in our lives that God will use to challenge our faith. We may have difficulty overcoming sin, but we cannot become overly weighed down by our sin and failures. We must move forward, confident in the knowledge that God always shows us grace and offers us redemption, and celebrate Him for blessing us in that way.
