Romans 12:9-10

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Reflection

Paul describes love that is sincere, active, and committed. Christian love is more than affection—it is a choice to honor one another and to stay engaged with one another. When the church lives this kind of love, it becomes a living picture of God’s reconciling grace.

Application

Today, ask God to deepen your devotion to others. Pray for eyes to see where you can serve, honor, and love well. Lift up our HUBs and groups— that they would grow in care, commitment, and spiritual depth. Ask God to raise up more HUBs at The District, so that no one walks alone and Christ’s love is made visible among us.

John 17:20-21 My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 

Reflection 

Jesus prays that His followers would be one—not by uniformity, but by love. Our unity is meant to reflect the very heart of God and to serve as a living witness to the world. When the church lives in gospel-shaped love across differences, people see Christ more clearly. 

Application 

Today, ask God to grow a deeper love in you for those who are different from you. Pray for unity in diversity within The District Church, rooted in compassion and humility. Ask God to continue shaping us into a multiethnic community—especially among our Hispanic neighbors in Delano—so that our life together points unmistakably to Jesus. 

Psalm 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 

Reflection 

God invites us not just to obey Him, but to delight in Him. When our joy is rooted in the Lord, our desires begin to change. Contentment grows as we learn to receive satisfaction from God Himself rather than from what He gives. 

Application 

Today, turn your heart toward God as your greatest joy. Ask Him to satisfy you and to reshape your desires around knowing Him. Pray that we would be a church marked by passionate worship—expressing our delight in God through joyful service and generous giving—so that our lives point clearly to the One we treasure most. 

Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’ 

Reflection 

God’s promise is not just about a hopeful future—it’s about a present pursuit. He invites His people to seek Him wholeheartedly, with the assurance that He will be found. True blessing and lasting peace are discovered not by chasing outcomes, but by pursuing God Himself. 

Application 

Today, choose seeking over settling. Ask God to deepen your hunger for prayer and His Word. Invite Him to shape your desires around knowing Him more fully. Pray that this year would be marked by growth in prayer —for you personally and for our church—so that The District becomes a people who earnestly seek God and experience the life He promises. 

Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 

Reflection 

Paul prays not for more information, but for deeper revelation. To know God is more than learning about Him—it is a growing relationship shaped by worship, trust, and obedience. As the Spirit opens our hearts, knowledge becomes love, and love becomes a life formed by God’s presence. 

Application 

Today, ask God to lead you into a deeper knowledge of who He is. Pray that we would be a people who grow in both understanding and worship. Lift up our HUBs at The District—that men and women, boys and girls would be formed in their love for God. Ask God to stir greater engagement in the life of our church as we grow together in knowing Him. 

Colossians 1:22-23 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Reflection

The gospel doesn’t just begin our faith—it sustains it. Paul calls us to remain grounded and steadfast, holding firmly to the hope we first received. Our confidence is not in our ability to hold on, but in God’s faithfulness to continue the work He has begun in us.

Application

Today, choose steadiness over drifting. Ask God to strengthen your faith and deepen your confidence in His ongoing work in your life. Be attentive to opportunities to bear witness to the power of the gospel.

Pray for growth and fruitfulness in our shared ministry, trusting that God will finish what he started.

DAY 5 - EYES OPENED TO HOPE 

Ephesians 1:18-19 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. 

Reflection 

Paul prays that our eyes would be opened—not to circumstances, but to hope. The gospel lifts our vision beyond the moment and anchors us in God’s power at work within us. When we see clearly what God has promised, fear loosens its grip and faith takes root. 

Application 

Today, ask God to fill you with gospel-shaped hope. Invite Him to work powerfully in your life, freeing you to live for His glory. Then be ready to share the reason for your hope with neighbors and friends. Pray that people in your circle would come t 

DAY 4 - MADE ALIVE BY GRACE 

Ephesians 2:4-5 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” 

Reflection 

When we were spiritually dead, God didn’t wait for us to change—He moved toward us. Because of His great love and rich mercy, He made us alive in Christ. Salvation is not something we earn; it is grace freely given. The cross proves that God’s love reaches us at our worst, not our best. 

Application 

Today, receive grace again with gratitude instead of striving. Then pray for those around you—neighbors, friends, and family in Delano and across Wichita—who have yet to respond to God’s grace. Ask God to awaken hearts and to make many alive in Christ as we follow Him together. 

DAY 3 - FRUIT THAT LASTS 

John 15:5 “‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.’” 

Reflection 

Jesus makes it clear: fruitfulness flows from abiding, not striving. Disciples aren’t formed through activity alone but through lives deeply connected to Christ. When we remain in Him, God produces growth that we could never manufacture on our own. 

Application 

Today, recommit to abiding in Jesus so your life can bear fruit. Ask God to make us an effective, disciple-making community. Pray for our student and family ministries, that God would redeem our children and raise them up as faithful servants in the world. Then ask the Spirit to show you one person to intentionally invest in, trusting God to bring growth as we remain in Him.

Acts 1:8 “‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’” 

Reflection 

Jesus promises power before He gives a mission. The work of God is never fueled by human effort alone—it depends on the presence of the Holy Spirit. Without Him, activity becomes noise. With Him, ordinary people become witnesses of extraordinary grace. The gospel advances not through strength or strategy, but through Spirit-filled lives. 

Application 

Today, ask God to fill you again with His Spirit. Pray for courage and boldness to live as a witness where you live, work, and play. Pray for The District to be a church that sends—into neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and to the nations—so that the good news of Jesus is carried across Wichita and throughout the world.
