Retroid on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 7/19/22 About Retroid - Adam Huszár better known as Retroid had been attracted to music from his childhood. He began producing music in the end of 90's. Pioneer electronic music producers like Hybrid, BT, The Crystal Method, Westbam and The Prodigy inspired his work and he found his true sound in progressive breaks and house.  He affectionately uses atmospheric elements and loads of melodies in his productions. Starting with his "Forbidden World/Shining Path" EP on UK based Composure Records in 2006, Adam has put together an impressive discography including releases, collaborations and remixes on more than 40 labels like Distinctive Records, System Recordings, Inkfish, Sound Of Habib, Solaris, Deep Blue, Proton and many more. He got involved in numerous music genres during the years and nowadays he produces on a very wide spectrum of music under different aliases and formations. In February 2007 Adam founded Morphosis Records dedicated to progressive electronic dance music releasing his own and other talented artists's tracks. Soon in 2008 he launched his second label called Ego Shot Recordings which is mainly focusing on more energetic and bass heavy music. Adam produces music all the time and looks for contacts around the globe. His tracks are welcomed and supported by various artists and DJ's like Paul Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, Markus Schulz, Andy Moor, Ferry Corsten, The Crystal Method, Hybrid and the list goes on. Recognition of his productions over the past decade has provided Adam with an increasing DJ diary. He had numerous gigs and parties in different clubs and festivals all over the world. You can also listen to his mixes and regular radio show called 'Revive' each month on Digitally Imported.   About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ’s/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. Brothers on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 7/13/22 About Brothers - Brothers [formerly known as MENEW] is an EDM/alt-rock band composed of siblings Aaron Klaas (lead vocals, guitar), Ryan Klaas (synthesizers, piano) and Nathan Klaas (drums, vocals). Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, their sound comes from a background of classical music training and British rock influence.  After taking a bit of a hiatus, they are back with a new sound and new music that was created during the pandemic. The band wrote and recorded their first full length EDM album, Brothers, featuring their first single “The Walls”. “The inspiration behind the song is the idea of pushing back and challenging societal norms,” Aaron says of the first single that will be released on May 20, 2022. “We hope people will be inspired to break down the walls of inequality, race and prejudice, while enjoying the music of course.”  The band met high acclaim with their MENEW project Wide Awake Hello; the single/video ‘Don't Give Up On Us Now’ has been streamed and viewed over a million times. They have also taken the Cannes Film Festival by storm alongside French Montana at the exclusive club Gotha, where they performed their EDM single “Overdrive”. Short-listed for eight Grammy Nominations, Wide Awake Hello and follow-up hit single “Baby You’re Like a Drug” (which stars actor Joshua Jackson in the music video) have been on NBC (Chuck), MTV (The Hills, Jersey Shore), Bravo (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce) ESPN and films worldwide. The Klaas siblings have appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and performed/toured alongside artists such as U2, Akon, French Montana, Stone Temple Pilots, Filter, Weezer and Linkin Park.   About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ’s/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. MJ Cole on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 7/12/22 About MJ Cole - One of U.K. garage's first true stars, MJ Cole's work has spanned Mercury Prize-nominated albums and a lengthy career as a remixer and producer. His widely praised 2000 debut Sincere was a landmark release for the genre, taking the pirate radio-bred sound aboveground by emphasizing its soul and R&B influences. Following 2003's Cut to the Chase, a guest-heavy set that touched on U.K. hip-hop and ragga, Cole remained busy remixing artists like https://open.spotify.com/artist/4iHNK0tOyZPYnBU7nGAgpQ and https://open.spotify.com/artist/6Q192DXotxtaysaqNPy5yR, collaborating with artists ranging from https://open.spotify.com/artist/0gusqTJKxtU1UTmNRMHZcv to https://open.spotify.com/artist/0du5cEVh5yTK9QJze8zA0C, and continually exploring rhythms with his solo EPs and singles. He returned to his classical roots with 2020's MJ Cole Presents Madrugada. While growing up in London, Cole studied the oboe and piano, ultimately earning a degree in music from City University. He also immersed himself in electronic music culture, working as a tape operator and engineer for the drum'n'bass label https://open.spotify.com/search/label%3A%22SOUR%22. Cole issued a breakbeat single as Morf in 1995. While working on https://open.spotify.com/artist/5rBBAjkUV1bF89nr9AGpEu's 2-step remixes for https://open.spotify.com/artist/7CgweQAq49HmeMQaxzyuXC in 1996, he caught the garage bug and worked on numerous productions as well as remixes for https://open.spotify.com/artist/2sIx6SmAMw9IBySG3Uj0jf, https://open.spotify.com/artist/2SYqJ3uDLLXZNyZdLKBy4M, Gwen McRae, https://open.spotify.com/artist/3kcqSqWEss8JZtHBE5IJzZ, and https://open.spotify.com/artist/6Piel9jEbV4Qb18Yw1B2dI. He started releasing garage singles under his own name in 1997, and a few as Box Clever, including one of the first releases on https://open.spotify.com/search/label%3A%22Prolific%20Recordings%22, which he founded in 1998.  Cole's song "Sincere," recorded using a sampler and Atari, was released via https://open.spotify.com/search/label%3A%22AM%3APM%22 the same year, and was one of the first Top 40-charting garage singles. Soon after, Cole signed to https://open.spotify.com/artist/4fH73bVIwM24QrBqjTrhAA's https://open.spotify.com/search/label%3A%22Talkin%27%20Loud%22 label, which released the "Crazy Love" single in May 2000 and the full-length Sincere that July. The album's quick, crisp production style earned him a Brit Award nomination as well as a Mercury Prize nomination. Cole released another album, 2003's Cut to the Chase with https://open.spotify.com/search/label%3A%22Talkin%27%20Loud%22, before leaving the label in 2004. That year, he began releasing a steady stream of singles and EPs on https://open.spotify.com/search/label%3A%22Prolific%22, issuing collaborations with Tubby T, https://open.spotify.com/artist/7k9T7lZlHjRAM1bb0r9Rm3, and Elisabeth Troy (who had previously sung on "Crazy Love"). During this time, he remixed artists such as https://open.spotify.com/artist/6Q192DXotxtaysaqNPy5yR, https://open.spotify.com/artist/3DiDSECUqqY1AuBP8qtaIa, and https://open.spotify.com/artist/4iHNK0tOyZPYnBU7nGAgpQ, took his DJ set on the road, and composed music for television ad campaigns. His own Riddim EP appeared in 2010.  Over the next several years, he co-wrote songs with https://open.spotify.com/artist/0lwmhJGJcTgbcY4bnXGDgj and https://open.spotify.com/artist/2wY79sveU1sp5g7SokKOiI, remixed tracks by https://open.spotify.com/artist/4ScCswdRlyA23odg9thgIO and https://open.spotify.com/artist/3m38ZSwkLdeBDUhdGnFPrn, and produced tracks for https://open.spotify.com/artist/0gusqTJKxtU1UTmNRMHZcv and https://open.spotify.com/artist/5EUdiv20t58GCS09VMKk7M while also finding time to release his own music on the Panoramic EP. https://open.spotify.com/search/label%3A%22Lobster%20Boy%20Records%22 issued the single "Alcatraz" in 2016. Lady Waks on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 7/12/22 About Lady Waks - I am Alexandra, painter, graphic designer, graffiti artist and musician. In a word, an artist. Born in 1982 in Leningrad. I have been inseparable from drawing since early childhood: one day my parents sent me to an art school, which determined my whole future. Throughout my life, my work has changed, opened up from new sides, acquired unexpected forms, but fine art has definitely become my destiny. In the early 1990s, I moved to Germany, where I graduated from the private art school Freie Waldorfschule. There she met her first great creative "love" - street art. I became interested in them in Hannover, where I had the good fortune to work side by side with famous graffiti artists. For the next few years, I decorated the streets of different cities with my drawings, working under the pseudonym WAKS. I did not leave street art, and when I returned to my native St. Petersburg, I only changed my pseudonym to a mirror one - SKAW. By that time I had developed my own recognizable style, my graffiti began to appear more and more often on the pages of Western magazines and books devoted to contemporary art, such as Graffiti World by Nicholas Ganz. But I felt that within the framework of street art I was getting crowded, I needed to move on, expand my creative horizons. Therefore, I entered the University of Culture and Arts at the Faculty of Media Design. In the early 2000s, the next chapter of my creative life began - I became interested in music. She moved to Berlin again, went headlong into a new hobby: she wrote tracks under the third pseudonym LADY WAKS in her life. The next 10 years were basically one big tour with performances up to six times a week. But the love of painting and drawing has not gone away: I just redirected it into graphic design, creating numerous music covers, logos and posters. Later, my experience in this field allowed me to create my own creative design agency. In 2018 I returned to painting. Now I live and work in St. Petersburg. My style combines all my creative experience: it is a synthesis of academic skills acquired at the university, techniques from street art and graphic design. In general, it can be called abstract painting, which conveys my vision of the world, my feelings and emotions.   About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ’s/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. Drasen on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 7/11/22 About Drasen - Imagine yourself floating euphorically through the infinite expanse of the cosmos. Recall a time when you freely embraced the marvel of our Earth’s scenery. Unlimited, Unrestrained and Boundless are the feelings inspiring the ambitious sounds of Drasen. “Being in the presence of something truly stunning & all-pervading is the ultimate feeling I try to capture. I want to erase musical boundaries and have my work inspire a new generation of creativity & higher consciousness. I will do whatever it takes to get there.” he says. Going by his real name, Drasen started editing music in early high school and went on to perform at major venues across the nation. Inspired by the diverse assortment of cultures and experiences from his birthplace of South Florida, Drasen is carving out his own lane with his roots in House Music. “My goal is to have a sound that transcends culture through all people. What really means the most to me is if my music makes you feel deeply, or inspires my fellow creators. There is no greater gift than that.” Drasen’s music captures a presence of universal emotion, devoid of musical boundaries. Forging sounds of higher consciousness and transcendent beats, Drasen hopes to inspire a new generation of creativity and spiritual growth for mankind.   About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ’s/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. Boris on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 7/11/22 About Boris - It’s all about the music. New York stalwart and beloved DJ, Boris, lives by that statement each and every day. He is a man wearing many hats; one as a touring DJ, another as a producer dynamo and lastly as a label boss of Transmit Recordings.  A career forged over decades of long nights in the Big Apple’s most revered rooms. From the infamous Roxy to Crobar to the once dominating Pacha NY on 46th Street, Boris maintained a following so devout, so loyal they were truly ‘Believers’. Pioneering a music movement in a city filled with those who have so little time to pay attention, Boris has been a production powerhouse when not performing for the masses.  He’s been tapped by industry leaders such as Carl Cox for his label Intec, Dubfire for his label Sci-Tec, Paco Osuna and his Mindshake records, amongst countless others. His ability behind the decks and in the studio has not only made him a New York favorite, but his music has taken him places all around the world ranging from the shores of Playa Del Carmen to the magical White Isle known as Ibiza. Known to many as the ‘DJ’s DJ’, Boris has had the career most DJs can only wish to have.  The trends may change but the New York native has stayed true to his drum driven sounds and created his own niche in the wide and vast world of electronic music. Taking bits and pieces from every part of the globe he visits, Boris always maintains a piece of home in his music. Even though his career spans nearly three decades, the journeyman DJ has yet to falter. We currently find him playing leading to destinations across the globe and his music is in high demand with forthcoming releases of many sought after labels, Boris will is constantly on the tips of the younger generation’s tongue. Why? Because talent, like wine, gets better with age.   About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ’s/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience.
