Today we speak with Deeann Rieves - a mixed media, abstract artist who has an intricate process that includes painting, stitching, and working with collage.
We were so encouraged hearing the stories of how her high school and college teachers, as well as her parents and grandparents were a huge source of support and encouragement to her, especially in the beginning when she wasn't sure if she would ever make a living with art.
We discuss the ways her art has changed over the years, how she created a studio practice and the self discipline that takes!, and why it's helpful to set your own deadlines!
Deeann is an amazing example of DOING THE THING and giving it a try first before pursuing a backup plan, and she shares what happened when her worst fear finally happened.
Deeann's work is amazing and you can see it online at www.deeannrieves.com and on Instagram HERE.

Together, we discuss what it's been like for them to clarify their message and to make sure they're saying something meaningful.
We hear about their story of selling everything they owned (well, almost everything!) and taking a year off to "walk about".
We discuss what they personally did when life was not going the way they thought it would and they give listeners lots of advice for getting unstuck!
We hear about how their song, "Nashville" came about, as well as getting a first listen to their latest song, "Just Kiss Me."
And, of course, we asked them what is scaring them now??
We LOVED this convo and, as always, we want to hear from you about what steps you're taking towards your goals! Join our brand new Facebook Group to have deeper discussions with us and fellow listeners each week! Find it here! ---Doing Scary Things Together---
