This episode is about growth and how uncomfortable it can be if we are not prepared for it. If you are seeking change and growth in your life and business, you must be willing to get out of your comfort zone.

Every person is different and has unique gifts that they can offer. But, there’s one thing to shy away from things that don’t make the best use of your own gifts, it’s another thing to allow fear to cripple you and to prevent you from taking action.

When I started the business I was isolated from the outside world. I had just taken my kids out of sports. We were down to one car, and I left the house maybe once a week to get groceries.  I started a business of networking but had no network. The point: START WHEREVER YOU ARE!

When stepping out of your comfort zone and into unchartered territory, be like Nike and Just Do it. You don’t have to be perfect. Even the people whom you’ve compared yourself to will tell you that they were probably not the best when they started either.

After I had gotten to the point where I was willing to step out of my comfort zone for business, something I didn’t expect to happen, happened. I started to build real relationships. I’ve met some amazing people that I would have never met doing what I was doing before. And each of them has made an impact on me. Some have made an impact on my business. Some have even impacted the way I look at marriage and parenting. 

Starting a business is a lot like having a baby. It gets really uncomfortable the closer you get to your due date, but when it's all said and done, it's all worth it!

I was recently listening to a podcast that I just found Authentic Influencer. Both hosts have similar backgrounds to me. They both have network marketing businesses and one of the hosts actually homeschools her children. But on this particular episode, they were discussing how to honor your submission as a wife when you are the breadwinner. Both of these women have already gotten to a point in their paths where they could retire their husbands and one of the hosts mentioned the opportunity to be a FULL-TIME FAMILY. It truly resonated with me so much and I really began to meditate on the concept of full-time family.

But then I started to wonder…why are there now terms for things that were simple and self-explanatory? We often have these terms and labels such as “attachment parenting", etc. These terms describe now, what used to be called FAMILY.

We’ve used technology and definitely certain ideologies to bring us away from the simple things and the things that matter most.

As our families grow, and circumstances change in our lives, we must look at and sometimes change systems and processes in order to help them home run efficiently. The same is true in business. As your business grows, you must adapt your systems and processes in order to welcome and accommodate the growth. This is when the question arises “What can I delegate? What can I outsource to make better use of my time.” On this episode, I’ll share how you can answer those questions for yourself at home and at work.

Do you HAVE to post every social media post or is that something you can schedule?

Do you have to dust the corner of the window sill or is that something you can identify?

Do you need a cleaning staff or a meal service? I am a huge advocate for domestic management, but to me, it is just that, management. Having a maid does not mean that you are not taking care of your duties, it means that you are. Your presence isn’t necessary for cleaning the back of the refrigerator, but it is necessary for the rearing of your children.

Ensure that your outsourcing is not in conflict with your priorities, morals, and values.

There is nothing noble about doing everything on your own.

There is a popular saying “Success leaves clues” Highly effective people are known to be creatures of habit. Many successful entrepreneurs have daily routines, tasks, and rituals even Steve Jobs wore the same thing every day. 

• Create Habits for your home and business
• Have a list of home tasks you do daily to maintain your home
• Have daily tasks that you do for your business (and do them!!)
• Identify what new habits you want to adopt by reverse engineering your goals. Look at each goal that you have in your business, look at the time frame you’d like to achieve those goals in, and then create concrete tasks that you can implement over time to achieve the results that you want.

The final step is to keep going, to “run on”. In business, in parenting, in marriage, in life, we must maintain the course, we must run on. We will never professionalize anything if we quit.
