Four attitudes that open the door because of selfish ambition are wrong thinking, wrong motivation, wrong decisions, and wrong actions. “Do not merely look out for your interests, but also for the interest of others” (Phil 2:3-4). Lack of self-control is another door—the law of volitional responsibility. God holds you accountable for your decisions. You have entered a door to doom if you cause other believers to stumble in their faith. “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come” (Luke 17:1).
