We are changing directions a little bit with the podcast show by featuring a 4-part episode featuring our school values: Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Respectful, & Be Responsible. These episodes will be a bit shorter and will feature some Dormick Park staff as they share some personal stories of how these values have impacted their lives. As well, we will offer some helpful tips and reminders on how we can show these values to others each day.
On today’s episode, we will be talking about Kindness. Kindness is the act of being considerate, caring, and compassionate toward others without expecting anything in return. It's about showing empathy and being generous with your time, words, and actions. For example, holding the door open for someone, complimenting a friend when they’re feeling down, or helping a neighbour carry groceries are simple yet powerful ways to practice kindness. Each day, you can practice kindness by offering a smile to a stranger, actively listening when someone talks to you, or volunteering your time for a cause you care about. Small gestures like these can brighten someone’s day and create a ripple effect of positivity.
