  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Dr. Alan Weiss and Dr. Jean-Pierre Isbouts
The big idea: Jeff Bezos’s garage start-up shook up industries and eventually became one of the world’s most innovative and influential companies. Colin Kaepernick sparked an awakening when he, alone, knelt during the national anthem before a football game. In 2006, Tarana Burke coined the viral phrase that became the #MeToo movement of today.
It takes just one person to spark a movement, change minds—and create a legacy.
The so-what: Contrary to conventional wisdom, a legacy isn’t what’s written in your obituary. It’s what you create every day. And with a dark pandemic driving 51% of us to think more about our mortality, it’s high time we started today.
The key messages: A consultant to Fortune 500 executives, state governors, entrepreneurs, athletes, and entertainers, New York Times bestselling author ALAN WEISS, PH.D., offers unvarnished truths on what it takes to give our lives true meaning.
The source: ALAN WEISS, PH.D., is a consultant, speaker, and bestselling author. Described by the New York Post as “one of the most highly regarded independent consultants in America,” his consulting firm, Summit Consulting Group, Inc., has attracted clients such as Merck, Hewlett-Packard, GE, Mercedes-Benz, and more than 500 leading organizations. He is the author of more than 60 books, many of which have been included in university curricula and translated into 15 languages. His new book is Your Legacy Is Now: Life Is Not a Search for Meaning from Others—It's the Creation of Meaning for Yourself (Routledge; March 18, 2021).

His books are published in over 45 languages and in more than 80 countries, with over 130 million worldwide sales. His works have been adapted for both feature film and television. More about A GAMBLING MAN: With the 1950s on the horizon, Archer is in dire need of a fresh start, so he hops on a bus and begins his journey out west to California. Along the way, Archer stops in Reno, where a stroke of fortune delivers him a wad of cash and an eye-popping bloodred 1939 Delahaye convertible—plus a companion for the final leg of the journey, an aspiring actress named Liberty Callahan who is planning to try her luck in Hollywood. But when the two arrive in Bay Town, California, Archer quickly discovers that the hordes of people who flocked there seeking fame and fortune landed in a false paradise that instead caters to their worst addictions and fears.

Archer’s first stop is a P.I. office where he is hoping to apprentice with a legendary private eye and former FBI agent named Willie Dash. He lands the job and immediately finds himself in the thick of a potential scandal: a blackmail case involving a wealthy, well-connected politician running for mayor that soon spins into something even more sinister. As bodies begin falling, Archer and Dash must infiltrate the world of brothels, gambling dens, drug operations, and long-hidden secrets, descending into the rotten bones of a corrupt town that is selling itself as the promised land—but might actually be the road to perdition, and Archer’s final resting place.

  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Peter Abrams and Janelle Snow
    Peter Abrams:

Peter Abrams, is a 21 year old award-winning comedian and musician, author, speaker and entrepreneur who found his lucky break by working and becoming the mentee of Russell Brand. In just two years; he has been fortunate enough to perform at a wide range of events including notable stages such as TED, Mind Body Spirit London,

The National Science Museum, Glastonbury and Madison Square Garden to
name a few. He has published one book titled Our Story Called Life, which looked at the meaning of life by comparing numerous cultures' belief systems, quite a unique concept for a book written by a then eighteen year old.

The book sold fantastically for a first-time author and allowed to speak at prestigious events including a TED-talk this November and The National Science Museum.

This journey led him to comedy and subsequently music, which for the last two years he has performed extensively in the United Kingdom and recently internationally on my 'Life is a Joke' tour which spanned 12 countries including the United States, China and Australia. He has been
fortunate and successful and has performed at venues including The Comedy Store, The Boiler-room, Glastonbury and Latitude Festival.

He is the front man for the UK band Current Affairs with their new EP Love and Other Drugs dropping soon.

    Janelle Snow:
I've been fortunate to spend my adult life engaging in my twin passions of acting and educating. After receiving a degree in theatre from Northwestern, I went through the Second City Training Center and then spent a couple of years performing improv in Chicago and touring with various improv groups. As part of Wavelength, an ensemble committed to creating shows for educators, my passion for teaching was reignited. I pursued a Master's Degree in Teaching from Harvard University and upon graduation, I spent a few years immersed in teaching acting and drama full time. I eventually returned to my adopted hometown of Chicago and have been blending my passions ever since. I've appeared in dozens of stage productions across Chicago, received two Joseph Jefferson Awards, and have appeared in a slew of commercials as well as various on camera projects, including a recurring role on CHICAGO MED, the upcoming features RAIN BEAU'S END and NOISE AND COLOR, and the short film STAGE FOUR, for which I recently received a Best Actress Nomination from the Midwest Independent Film Festival. I had the distinct honor of working with Jane Alderman behind the camera as she cast multiple television shows and films and have carried the lessons of that experience with me as both a teacher and actor. I'm thrilled to be a member of the faculty of the Theatre School at DePaul, the Chicago College of Performing Arts, and Acting Studio Chicago, where I teach on camera acting and auditioning for the theatre. Also, I love running, crocheting, and cats.

  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Joe Wallenstein and Megan Davis
Joseph B. Wallenstein invigorates and amplifies the legal interpretation of Miranda; he puts it in the context of a human story. Thus, with his insightful human dimension, Wallenstein's book makes it accessible to intelligent mainstream readers. In that fuller dimension, "Flynn and Miranda” illuminates the decision beyond the legal-ese explanation. "It is the telling of the last, great, true story of the 20th century," Wallenstein says. "When I interviewed Mr. Flynn, he said to me, ‘I have been asked about the cause a thousand times. You are the only one who ever asked me about the price I paid for my involvement.’"

Wallenstein crystallizes the magnitude and breath of the decision: "Everyone has heard of the right but not one in a thousand, even lawyers, knows how those rights came to be or who paid the price to achieve them. Two men from opposite ends of the human social spectrum who came together in one blazing moment of legal history and how that moment changed their lives and the lives of all Americans. At its core, Flynn and Miranda is about fairness and how much that matters in America."

Author Wallenstein was interested from the beginning -- the night Miranda was killed. The author has a track record in storytelling, having produced two highly-successful TV series, Knots Landing and 7th Heaven. He has also written two previous books about film production and safety in professional filming: Practical Filmmaking: A Handbook few the Real World and Nothing Dies for Film and currently serves as Director of Physical Production in the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California.

"Research only made me more determined to tell the story. To be frank, in the wake of Miranda, some patently guilty individuals did go free. The great effects of the decision forced police work into the scientific era and resulted in the creation of the Criminal Code, now in place in all fifty states," Wallenstein says.

Megan Davis began her acting career in cowboy boots -- at age 3 for a grocery store commercial and now she's notching her acting spurs in a range of portrayals. Her latest performance in the TV movie The Christmas Family Reunion is projected as a 2021 holiday release.

Written and directed by Jake Helgren, whose previous production Dashing in December, starred Andie MacDowell, the script contained a line that Davis was particularly excited about. "It was so funny and different. Anything that breaks the norm of the moment is always exciting," Davis notes.

Davis' 2021 performance in The Christmas Family Reunion comes on the heels of a principal role in a TV pilot, For Nothing, a crime drama starring Michael Madsen and Daniel Baldwin. Indeed, Davis has been kicking up gold dust with an eclectic range of acting credits, including guest-starring roles in such series as American Horror Story, 2 Broke Girls, Bones, Young & Hungry. She has also performed in a number of independent films, portraying a diverse array of characters. Davis was nominated for a Best Actress Award by the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival for her portrayal of a prescription-pill addict in the short thriller Adverse Effects. She had roles in films such as The Wolves of Savin Hill and Animus as well as theatrical stage productions of FAMOUS, Elevator, Hay Fever, Dracula, and in the Edinburgh Theater Festival in The Day They Shot John Lennon.

  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ StaggerLee Cole
Introducing "Natural Born World-Shaker" StaggerLee Cole! This comedic seasoned stage dweller has acted in countless film and theater productions for the last 15 human years (93 dog years). He makes his own wacko-deranged films following Mel Brooks' footsteps through his film company 'Island of Misfit Films'. Fresh off the boat from Seattle, Measuring 6'1'' (not including his pompadour), it is hard to miss him around the sewers of Hollywood with his vintage style and collection of garments dating back to the last century. Pastimes are spent restoring antiquities and playing the bike pump (yes. The bike pump. Like an instrument). He is also probably the only actor with a Monorail and Trolley license, so he can do all his own Monorail and Trolley stunts himself. If you see StaggerLee in the streets, back away slowly and call the police, he’s escaped his cell on Alcatraz again.

  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Mike Anthony
Mike Anthony has been a professional actor and (not-professional) bartender since he graduated from Wayne State University with a Master of Arts degree in Theater. His first book, Life At Hamilton, chronicles the extraordinary time he spent as a theater bartender with an up-close perspective of Hamilton: An American Musical as it rocketed into Broadway history.

Beyond his life in theater, Mike's journey took an unexpected turn when his dad passed, leading him down a remarkable path of discovery. He now spends a good portion of his time exploring evidence suggestive of the survival of consciousness beyond the demise of the physical body. A part of Mike's story is told in the documentary series, Surviving Death.

Mike uses his acting abilities, often during the Christmas season, at the Theatre at Monmouth in Maine. Mike is still the bar manager at Hamilton, though on hiatus due to Covid. Currently residing in Milford, Connecticut, he is in the midst of working on several projects, including his next book and a documentary.
