Unlike their namesake nemesis, NYC-based The Thing brings a fresh take to the rock scene. While their connection since high school means they’ve had plenty of time to hone their original sound, it was only in recent years that they hit the ground running with touring the world and two full length albums - and they haven’t slowed down since.

Delivering outstanding service to listeners in times of need, The Brevet certainly lives up to their military-inspired name. Their music has played a part in fans’ lives from weddings to divorces, and from guilty-pleasure TV shows all the way to Appleton beginning at Mile 9. (Just not to the Olympics… yet!)

From their Orange County origins, the group first made a name for themselves in television and film. Weaving in elements of rock, pop, folk, and Americana, their music tells heartfelt, triumphant stories that resonate with listeners on every level.

After a Brand New Fall, it was just a Matter Of Time before the TDHS would Make It Out with another new-to-you Mile Recap and Recall flashback episode. There’s a reason these episodes are called the Moments From Mile 10 series, and this one in particular is all about savoring those moments.

The “day people” may make the rules, but it doesn’t mean ZG Smith is going to follow them… although you probably could have guessed that from his t-shirt collection.

If his name sounds familiar, it might be because of one of the other Zack Smiths that come up in your search results. Or it may be because a song from the former Smooth Hound Smith frontman’s debut solo EP, Nighttime Animal, is still stuck in your head.

The LA-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter sits down with Drew to discuss his transition to a solo career and the sounds that inspired the EP - and you can’t go wrong with a few good tour stories!
