In this episode of The Drift Zone at Fair Day 2021, we catch up with Brent Clifton, The Treatments Officer at positive Life NSW.
Brent has worked in the NSW HIV sector since 2012 across numerous peer support and management roles, programs, initiatives and research partnerships focused on people living with HIV.
These have been across the communities of people recently diagnosed with HIV, people who inject drugs and gay men, and other men who have sex with men living with HIV.
His leadership and involvement within the HIV sector has included initiatives such as;
Project lead on the RISE Study (The Kirby Institute), which explores the experiences of being diagnosed with HIV;
Manager of Gay Men's Sexual Health Programs (ACON), leading health promotion activities for gay men and providing peer support for people newly diagnosed with HIV;
Manager of Testing Services (ACON), working in partnership to provide peer-based rapid HIV testing to at risk communities across NSW;
and as a board member of Positive Life NSW (2018-2020).
Brent holds a Masters in Public Health and has been living with HIV since 2009.
