The Drive-In: Double Feature

This week, I got to sit down with Ben, a former colleague and fellow scary movie lover, to discuss the new Helen Mirren horror movie, “Winchester.” Ben and I couldn’t believe we had talked for almost two hours as we discussed the use of horror conventions, the cheap jumps, and the unsettling ginger child singing a lullaby. We even shared some of our own person ghost stories! Settle down with a bucket of popcorn for this one and enjoy The Drive In!

After weeks of trying see “I, Tonya,” I was finally able to see the movie eluded my guest host, Amanda, and me for so long. This week, Amanda and I review the Tonya Harding biopic, review some unique insights into the world of figure skating, and try to settle the debate for what really happened to Nancy Kerrigan. If you have any interest in the Harding “Incident,” you’ll want to listen to this one even if you haven’t seen the movie yet!

This week, “The Drive In” is joined by fellow Eventide host Mike Shea (Mike Talks Funny, Track Record) as he sits down to give his insights into this year’s Oscar nominations. Aaron and Mike discuss nearly all of the categories, give some of our own personal picks, snubs, and surprises. It’s always a good time talking movies with Mike!

On this episode of “The Drive In,” Aaron discusses the newest Steven Spielberg film, “The Post,” with the OG guest host, herself, his wife, Jordan. Despite technical issues, dinner, and a bored and hungry cat, the two discuss the well done, but slightly underwhelming story of the Washington Post and the McNamara report. It’s more interesting than it sounds, though! So grab your popcorn and check out Episode 13 of THE DRIVE IN!

On this episode of “The Drive In,” Aaron sits down with his close friend, Nick, as they talk about the third and final installment of Pitch Perfect. We break down the a capella driven sequel, the use (or overuse) of Fat Amy’s raunchy humor, and the mildly disappointing riff-off. This is quite the entertaining episode. You won’t want to aca-miss it!

The first episode of 2018 is here! Aaron sits down with his theatre friend, Kelly, to talk about “The Greatest Showman.” We break down each of the songs from the musically charged movie, give our insights into our love of Zac Efron, and try to figure out what the hell happened to the elephant at the end of the movie! It was great to finally get Kelly on the show, and I hope the New Year starts out as well for you as it did for us! THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW!
