The Driven Shot

Peter Muneme reflects on Barca's first loss of the season. Barca lost 2-1 to PSG with Ramos scoring in the 90th minute to steal all 3 points.

This was a game full of moments Barca had spells of dominance but couldn't impose themselves throughout the entire match. Key chances for Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo not taken. A controversial avoidance of a second yellow card for Nuno Mendes and a naive Barca display especially in the last minutes of the game ultimately cost them this match. If there's a time to lose this is certainly it. Barca has a lot of lessons to learn if they want to win the champions league this season.

Peter Muneme analyzes Barca's rise to the top of the league following their 2-1 win against Real Sociedad. It wasn't vintage Barca by any means.

Another comeback was required after Odriazola opened the scoring in the 30th minute but Barca fought back and responded before halftime with a goal from Jules Kounde set up by Marcus Rashford. Then in the second half barely a minute after coming on Lamine Yamal produced some dazzling flair and pace to get beyond Gomez and set up Lewandowski for the winning goal which sends Barca top of the league after Real Madrid suffered a humbling 5-2 defeat against Atletico. Can Barca carry this momentum into the game against PSG...

Peter Muneme covers Barca's victory against Real Oviedo away from home. It wasn’t the prettiest performance, but Barca emerged victorious once again thanks to a second-half remontada.

After a mistake by Joan Garcia saw Oviedo take a 1-0 lead into the break, Hansi Flick responded proactively, bringing Frenkie De Jong on at halftime. He completely transformed Barca’s midfield and helped them take control of the game.

Barca hit back through a goal by Eric Garcia and a terrific header by Robert Lewandowski, set up by De Jong, before Ronald Araujo secured the 3 points in the 88th minute with an assist from Marcus Rashford off a corner.

The unbeaten run continues! 💙❤️

⚽ Barcelona are still struggling to get going in LaLiga and once again dropped points against Rayo Vallecano in a draw that has raised alarm bells in the Blaugrana camp. Three games into the season, Hansi Flick’s team have yet to find defensive solidity or attacking consistency, which has sparked doubts about their start to the campaign

🧐 Peter Muneme’s analysis in The Driven Shot #33 highlights the lack of balance between the lines, an inconsistent midfield, and the German coach’s difficulty in managing egos and hierarchies in the dressing room. With the Champions League just around the corner, Flick must find immediate solutions to prevent the team from losing confidence and competitiveness at such a crucial stage of the season

📊 The main challenge is to rebuild a defense that concedes too much and to give continuity to an attack that relies heavily on individual moments. The international break offers an opportunity to rethink ideas, readjust pieces, and recover the footballing identity demanded by the club. The big question is whether Flick can impose his mark quickly or whether doubts will continue to grow before the European debut
