The Drop-off

We recap both the Snow Days off from school in Austin on Thursday and Friday (Feb 3-4) as well as the past weekend.

We wrap up our review of Malcolm Gladwell's Bomber Mafia and discuss some philosophical and ethical questions that the book raises.

We preview the big upcoming Wang birthday week and also give our Super Bowl predictions and end with some Harry Potter Talk.

Nathaniel: Rams 21 - Bengals 10
Daniel: Rams 24 - Bengals 21

We give you an inside look at what kids (mostly just 6th grade boys) are talking about these days at Hyde Park Middle School: NFL Playoffs, Shoes, Fortnite, and Lunchtime Dares. We finish our time by talking about who we look up to and the importance and value of spiritual training.

Some banter about the Pro Bowl, Super Bowl Preview, impending NFL free agency, and which shoes Nathaniel is into these days.

Apologies in advance for the poor audio quality of this episode!

We start by talking about books but we go all over the place in a wide-ranging conversation that also hits on English class at school, the upcoming WAYA basketball season, and the second weekend of the NFL playoffs.

Sorry to some of our favorite listeners, but we are back with an all-sports episode. We discuss the upcoming trade deadline as it relates to the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacer, Philadelphia Sixers, and Boston Celtics.

We talk about the first weekend of the NFL playoffs and Nathaniel's mommy-son date to Outback Steakhouse. Yum!

Listen in on Nathaniel's take on Covid-19: vaccines, masks, what's different in our post-Covid world, and even some possible silver linings!

Daniel: Bomber Mafia by Malcolm Gladwell
Nathaniel: Call of the Wild by Jack London

And we finish up with another Hyde Park Basketball game recap!
