Derek Lee from Beatnote APP popped in to chat with Matt about his very successful app used by many drummers and drum teachers alike.

Derek was also behind Benny Greb's Gap Click App and has a wealth of experience developing apps, drums and all that good stuff.

Based In Tokyo but originally from Boston, MA. USA Derek has developed an app that really helps drummers learn beats, notation, rudiments and enables teachers and students to share their lessons and project electronically or by printed sheets.

Derek and his team. will be at The UK Drum Show 24th and 25th October 2026 at the LEX Liverpool Royal Albert Dock. (The NEW NAME for the ACC Liverpool and in the same place as always, so don't panic)

Pop upstairs on the escalator on on the way to the Main Stage, Mike Dolbear Room or Mike Johnston Education room and you will see BEATNOTE right in front of you as you step off the escalator.

The EAD20 comes in between the EAD10 and EAD50 and the 20 is NOT a replacement to the 10. The EAD10 is not being discontinued but the 20 has come in packed with new features that you have been looking for and set a price point approximately 1/2 the Price of the EAD50.

Simon is the main man when it comes to all things EAD, Hybrid set ups, and I just had to get him in to tell us all about the New EAD 50 along with some tips on the EAD 10 too.

This episode is FULL of amazing tips, hacks when using both systems. I honestly learnt a lot from this episode and I am sure it will answer some of your questions and may surprise you of what both offerings from Yamaha can do!

Meet Migdalia Van Der Hoven! (Episode 4, Season 3)

Aurea and I were delighted to meet Migdalia recently during the heatwave and got to know a bit more about her story so far in this wonderful world of drumming.

Migdalia is a Mexican born Drummer living in the UK. She will be on Stage on Thursday 13th August at 11 am at The Drum Hang Festival, The Space in Norwich hosted by Dan Moss of Mozzie Drums.
