  • Opener Day Tour — Stop 1 of 3

    Send us Fan Mail

Stop #1 of the Duck Dependent Opening Day Tour was one for the books. Patience paid off as we hunted a full-body spread with my little buddy and my dog Blue. The first two hours humbled us, but the wigeon finally showed up and saved the hunt.

Big honkers, close calls, and a first for everything including taking a duck straight to the face.

    Plus, I answer listener questions.

The Highs, The Lows & The Hustle.

This trip had a little bit of everything. We didn’t find the geese we were hoping for, but we found a few doves, made some great memories with family and friends, and got to experience some pretty cool opportunities along the way.

We talk about putting Duck Dependent hats in a my famous gas station, gaining access to premium private ground through nothing more than a handshake and a gentleman’s agreement.

We also talk about duck numbers, the upcoming season, and keeping a positive outlook even when things don’t look perfect. Most importantly, we take a step back and recognize just how blessed we are to have the amount of public access and opportunities we have.

The hunting doesn’t always go as planned. The business doesn’t always go as planned. But the hustle continues.

  • It's time to start thinking about Ducks

    Send us Fan Mail

Duck season doesn’t start on opening day it starts months before. In this episode, we talk about why July and August are some of the most important months for serious duck hunters.

The best hunters are setting goals, building relationships, learning from mentors, testing their gear, making sure their boats and equipment are ready, and putting themselves in a position to succeed before the first hunt ever happens.

Success in the marsh is built through preparation, commitment, and surrounding yourself with the right people. The work you put in now determines the season you’ll have later.

In this episode, we dive into the opportunity we have to be successful during duck seasons and why the hunters who consistently find ducks are usually the ones willing to do the things nobody else will do before the hunt.
