Murder in the Lake District
Martin Edwards is a superior writer, and this book is a superior effort. For me, the fact that all the myriad threads of the story are
fully tied up and off at the end was a major pleasure. Stories with dangling pieces annoy me, but Edwards leaves
nothing for the reader to puzzle over.
Decent Lake District story
I basically liked the book, I always enjoy Martin Edwards' work. But, not enough Daniel Kind, and pretty lame plot device in the save the day clue he comes up with after not really being in the story at all. I like the books better when the characters the reader has come back to read about again in a series actually a) are a primary part of the story and b) their own story moves along. This is a decent stand alone story, but disappointing as a continuation in a series.
If you've never had the good fortune to read Martin Edwards' books
I have followed this writer from his Harry Devlin series, then read the Lake District series, as well as his stand alone novels. He never disappoints! I read The Dungeon House on Labor Day. Just could not put it down. If you've never had the good fortune to read Martin Edwards' books, you're in for a treat and are bound to get hooked!
Five Stars
Martin Edwards always serves up a satisfying read.
Great writing
I've read all of this series (darn it). Have to wait another year for the next one. This is a lendable book which I've got my brother hooked on now.
