Resource List from Christi |
- David Kessler is the grief guru, so I personally haven't read any of his books, however, I recently listened to him speak on grief and was blown away. He's the real deal, so any of his books, shows would be good to share.
- Get a grief journal! Write out all the thoughts, all the feelings, everything you're experiencing for a few reasons: 1) it's a way to get it out of your head and body and onto paper. 2) provides evidence of growth in yourself and your grief journey, because there will be days you need to be reminded you're not at the same point you once were. 3) it can serve as a prayer and scripture journal as well
- Get into counseling! You will need to process everything that's happened and you can do that with someone who is trained to listen, trained to help you tap into the feelings you don't want to feel, and will not make the conversation about themselves.
- Make a lament playlist of music. I did this and it was SO helpful. I found mostly worship songs that deal with heartache or grief and it's been one of the most healing elements for me in my journey.
