Today Doug Sauer and Sheila Mahler have on the show, a very special guest from Brisbane Australia Ryan Craig.Ryan grew up in Brisbane Australia, in a baptist family. He had a relationship with God that He took for granted and didn’t fully apprehend when younger. He Showed little interest in adolescent years and came to a personal faith in his university years.

Ryan began attending a Pentecostal church at that point (2014), where he was introduced to a spiritual reality within Christianity.

Ryan attended Australian Catholic University for my bachelor of physiotherapy, graduated in 2016. Ryan and a friend of his started an on campus church called Alive ACU during his studies.

He has pursued ongoing learning since graduating quite intensely. Ryan was drawn to private practice and began my career with a goal to identify a biblical approach to physiotherapy. He quotes, God  has tempered me a lot since then/over 3 years of practice. I am not as dogmatic as I was, hopefully still as zealous.

Ryan's university training was largely biomedical, and in practice he felt this limited therapeutic potential. He quotes, A biblical worldview tells us that ‘we are more than just the sum of the parts’ (therefore we are gestalt) - and so manipulating and modifying the parts on there own i felt was not the most optimal approach to therapy (or development, or performance).

DNS focuses on global movement patterns to rehabilitate function and in doing so, improved pain and injury. He feel's this is a better approach, make the tree good and the fruit will be good too.

A message ryan would like to share is - God can provide wisdom to reform the professions, DNS is a good tool for this within physiotherapy.

There is a moral imperative we are neglecting in the movement professions. Movement has a spiritual and moral component.

Dynamic neuromuscular stabilization (DNS), protocols based on the teachings and treatment programs of Pavel Kolar, physiotherapist by training who holds a doctorate in pediatrics, and Karel Lewit, MD, known as the father of manual medicine. Dr. Brett Winchester is one of only eight DNS-certified instructors worldwide, trained at The Prague School of Rehabilitation and Manual Medicine.
