December 16, 2016S1E20 Post HullIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against Hull City on Saturday afternoon, where Palace got a share of the spoils in an exciting 3-3 draw. An action-packed game full of thriller, featuring a combination of outrageous skill, disorganised defending, questionable refereeing and a contentious penalty decision (*CHEATER - Robert Snodgrass*) saw Crystal Palace take a point from a match where they arguably should have taken all three. Wilfried Zaha is continuing to grow in stature and had a hand in every Palace goal. Should Fryers start ahead of Townsend, could Zeki play out wide? Is McArthur crucial to the team, how important is his partnership with Ledley? December 08, 2016S1E19 Post SouthamptonIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against Southampton on Saturday afternoon, where Palace got the win after a brilliant team effort display. The Eagles left the disappointment of last week's performance against Swansea behind them by collecting a win after six defeats in a row and by keeping the first clean sheet of the season (And in 18 games) against a lacklustre Southampton team how just didn't click. It was a team effort and everyone in the team showed heart, commitment and solidarity. Should Ledley start ahead of Cabaye? Will Palace be better off defensively with Delaney back in the squad? December 01, 2016S1E18 Post SwanseaIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the ‘Crazy’ game against Swansea, where Palace’s defence once again proved the team’s weakness especially at set pieces. The 5-4 loss at Swansea was the exact kind of performance that sums up the problems that Crystal Palace have had over the last year-- all the quality that the club has is completely negated by an innate aversion to doing the simple things right. Last season there were problems with the attack, now it is the defence with problems which was shambolic and lackadaisical in this game. Should Zaha have played for England and will he be a success with the Ivory Coast? Is Zaha the best winger in Europe? How will Palace coup without Wickham? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast.Palace fans don't forget to 'like' our Facebook page and follow us via the following social media links:Website: http://e-crystalpalace.blogspot.co.ukFB Page: https://www.facebook.com/ecrystalpalaceFB Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ecrystalpalaceTwitter: http://twitter.com/e_crystalpalaceSpreaker: https://www.spreaker.com/show/the-e-crystal-palace-podcast See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information....more1h 16minPlay
November 24, 2016S1E17 Post Man CityIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against Man City on Saturday afternoon, where Palace’s poor run of form continued with a fifth defeat in a row despite a good performance. The 2-1 defeat wasn't a bad performance, but it was another loss thanks to basic defensive errors. While City have so much more quality, that was matched in work rate and attacking threat by Palace . Should Wickham form a partnership with Benteke in a 4-4-2? #PardewIn or #PardewOut? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast. November 11, 2016S1E16 Post BurnleyIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against Burnley on Saturday afternoon, were the Eagle’s game management allowed Burnley to take advantage of the teams weak defence. This was a game Palace will feel they should have won, given their dominance of both possession and chances. However, as has been typical of Palace lately, a lack of focus and an unthinkingly enthusiastic approach to game management gifted the three points to Burnley. #PardewIn or PardewOut#? Could Wickham form a partnership with Benteke in a 4-4-2? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information....more1h 3minPlay
November 02, 2016S1E15 Post LiverpoolIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against Liverpool on Saturday evening, were the Eagles defence fell victim to The Reds title-contending attack. Crystal Palace conceded defeat to an excellent Liverpool side who once again showed their title-chasing intent. In the first half Palace showed Jurgen Klopp's side far too much respect and ended the half 2-3, but in the second Alan Pardew’s men battled through but ultimately their efforts were insufficient as the visitors ran out as 4-2 winners. Is James McArthur more effective in a more advanced role? Why can’t Palace do the basics defensively? If Townsend feels he can only play on the right, why can’t Zaha play on the left? October 26, 2016S1E14 Post LeicesterIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, were the Eagles lost in a game which could have gone either way. The 3-1 score line flattered Leicester City a little, but once again Palace *FALTERED* thanks in part to us being wasteful in front of goal and having a porous defence. While the first and last 20 minutes of the encounter saw Palace push for goals (Benteke (2) and Cabaye denied), the Eagles were unlucky with some chances (Benteke's header hit the crossbar) but most chances weren't taken while the League champions were ruthless with theirs. Is Wilfried Zaha one of the best wingers in Europe? Is Cabaye’s future in the team a more advanced one? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast. October 21, 2016S1E13 Post West HamIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against West Ham United on Saturday evening, were the Eagles finally ended their unbeaten run. Once again Palace started the game slowly and were punished early on, with West Ham taking the insurmountable 1-0 lead. However a rejuvenated second half saw Palace have many chances to level, but they either didn’t fall to them or were missed. Benteke's penalty miss (*WAY* over the Whitehorse Lane Stand) just before half time hampered Palaces tempo and stopped the Eagles finding a way back into the game, even though a late equaliser would arguably have been deserved. Who should be Palace’s penalty taker? Does Zeki Fryers deserve a chance? Why can’t Palace dominate any team in the first half? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast. October 08, 2016S1E12 Post EvertonIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against Everton on Friday night, were the Eagles extended their unbeaten run to 5 games and remained unbeaten in September. Everton looked the better side in the first half but a typical Crystal Palace second-half resurgence and an *ASTOUNDING* Christian Benteke goal got Crystal Palace a point in the 1-1 draw as the spoils were shared. Who will partner Scott Dann when he comes back from injury? Does Yohan Cabaye fit into our new system? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast. September 30, 2016S1E11 Post SunderlandIn this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against Sunderland, which saw Palace get three wins in a row for the first time since April 2015. The Eagles found a new determination, that was enough to score the three goals (Nicely taken by Ledley, McArthur and Benteke) needed from 2-0 down to deservedly take all three points in Saturday's 3-2 victory. The team performed fantastically through out the game and were rewarded with Benteke's winner late in stoppage time. Where does Cabaye fit into the squad? Should Lee Chung-Yong and Zeki Fryers be given a chance this season? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast.
