I met Swami Kriyananda on April 26, 1967, a day that marked the beginning of a significant journey in my life. This simple invitation from Kriyananda to assist him led to my involvement in meditation classes.

Service and meditation became central to my life and were the foundation of the Ananda community Swamiji founded. The stories I share in this blog are about the talent Swamiji had for engaging people in the work, ability to address spiritual dilemmas, and resilient spirit and joyful attitude even in the face of setbacks. The early days of Ananda were transformative because they were infused with Kriyananda’s energy and attunement to Paramhansa Yogananda's teachings, which continue in our community when we do our best to live his example.
