BIG IDEA: It is humanity's fallen nature to believe that salvation has to be earned. In fact every other major religion teaches just that. That going to heaven, or entering into a relationship with Jesus, is dependent on the good things we do. As believers (after salvation), this kind of thinking just takes on a different form. The idea that Jesus loves, accepts, and blesses us through a faith relationship and not our good works can still be a struggle. The truth is that from salvation to sanctification (a growing relationship with Jesus through ongoing surrender) it is our faith in Jesus finished work on the cross that is continually needed.
