This is one of the busiest council Committee I have ever attended. There have been around 100 or more people here representing the views of around 20 organisations whose funding has been cut by the council. The City of Edjnburgh Council has, during the meeting, decided it has to continue the decision and not make such swjngejng cuts today. To be clear - The coalition motion to continue the decision is likely to be approved by the committee although at the time of these interviews it has not yet been discussed by councillors who have spent all morning listening to citizens from many groups.

The council will develop the largest brownfield site in the city and transform it into a new area with 3,500 houses, a school, medical centre and transport connections to the city. It will also be the location for a new coastal park and there are exciting plans for the gasometer.
