Every Wedding Photographer experiences TWO stages of growth... and its really important to understand what stage you're in, to make sure you're making the right decisions in your business.
The first stage is all about building your portfolio, gaining experience, and truly starting to qualify yourself as a Wedding Photographer.
In this first stage you'll be held back from charging what you want to charge by what you in lack in portfolio and what you lack in experience.
At this stage in your business, showing MORE helps you increase your price; more real weddings to your portfolio, more experience under your belt, more testimonials from previous clients.
But... When you're established, increasing your price requires something different.
It's not about showing MORE, it's about REFINING what you show.
Increasing your price in this second stage is all about attracting clients who can pay more, and for that you need to be showing work that's relevant to them.
That might actually mean showing LESS, but making sure that what you do show connects with them.
You need to understand what stage of your business you're at before you can apply the right strategy...
Often the reason Photographers struggle to increase their price is because they've been using the same strategy they used when they first started their business, but it no longer works.
