Digital equity gets a lot of lip service these days, but it’s been an issue since technology entered classrooms. Matt came to that realization during his first years as a teacher and has dedicated much of his time to bringing awareness to this issue on a national stage and working within his own school community to address it.
Our host, Anna, shares that Matt’s work has inspired her to study this issue, and we’re sure it will spark a similar drive within you. After all, education is about giving all students opportunities to learn and grow.
Where to Find Matt:
Like most educators, you probably use edtech to engage students. But Ann McMullan was one the people to start this trend way before it was mainstream. That was in the 80s and 90s. Now, she’s an author and leader for organizations like COSN and District Administration, and she consults with educational leaders across the country as they transition to digital platforms for teacher, learning, and leadership.
In this episode, she joins us to talk about what she has learned over her 40-year career, the shifts in edtech over the last eight months, and where the future of education is headed (and how leaders can help us bring it to fruition). You won’t want to miss this one!
Where to Find Ann:
Ask any teacher what the biggest challenge is with teaching, and they’ll likely reference student engagement. Well, that’s where Thom comes in. Student engagement is kind of his calling, and he’s set out to help other teachers do the same.
Now, with the switch to online learning, he’s focusing heavily on delivering effective (and engaging!) lessons via Zoom, and he is here to share his tips with you. Not only that, we also talk about how education is changing and what teachers need from leadership to support their students. Check it out!

If you've strategized how to safely get technology into the hands of students, you've probably heard of Gaggle. It's one of the leading student safety platforms, and their CEO stops by to talk about what it's like running an edtech company for 20+ years, adventures of ISTEs past, and how empathy should guide our work in education at every level.
